Lot of respect for you! You have the grinder mentality for sure. It'll take time but you'll improve :) A bit late to the party, but some random thoughts from me, a peak ascendant: - Watch pros play, while you're eating, before bedtime... Some good ones are eggster (yoru main), melanji, tenz... you'll find them on twitch. Something you'll notice while watching these people is all have one thing in common: a great mental. They'll stay in it and come back from a 2-12 any day. They shrug off the bad and focus on the good, you can tell from their coms/vibes. Mental is the most important thing in this game. - Don't worry about the scoreboard or KD. - When you're starting out, I would say don't worry about your aim. Until you hit plat/dia, just take more fights than you normally would (especially as a duelist). You'll learn the mechanics, the timings for when to fight and when not to, you'll learn from your mistakes -- you'll basically save yourself lots of time from fighting a lot more, and when you get to higher elo's where you can get punished for swinging angles dry, then you'll tone it down. Aggressivity & confidence are key (plus they help with your mental). - When you die, ask yourself: Why did I die there? What did I do well? What was a mistake (if any)? - It's scary at first but I would say try to com and trust teammates more. You leave a lot on the table when you don't com and provide info/ideas to teammates. If they're rude, just mute / ignore them, don't let them get to your mental. When you die, com the agent who called you, where they are on the map, and how much you hit them for (e.g. "pheonix A main, hit for 90"), then let your team do the rest. The step above those basic coms is IGLing, which there are many videos/tutorials for, and is probably the second best way to rank up after fragging. - 1 yoru specific thing for you: yoru is very powerful on defense because he can basically be on any site thanks to his TP ability. At the start of the round, throw a tp to the other site. If your teammates on that site call for help, take the TP and you'll instantly have a stacked site. - Valorant is actually game of probability disguised as an FPS game. It's about taking advantageous fights (better than 50% odds) when possible. Over time, you'll learn what a > 50% fight is :-) - Lots of great coaching content out there. Check out Woohoojin, Konpeki, dopai... - Maining one agent and sticking to your guns is a great way to go, if it's yoru then so be it. I recommend also learning one smoke agent that you can use to "fill" if your teammates all insta-lock and you have no smokes. Smokes are quite important for taking a site. Omen is my favorite, I think he's the most versatile across all maps. The other agents are obviouly great too. - Ranked is a specific environment. It is quite different from organized competitive play that aspires to play "correctly" in a structured team setting. Joining a team can be a good way to learn but not recommended. Have fun with it! You'll meet some cool people. Valorant is a game of grinders and people who dream to be the best. There will be entire weeks where you are losing all your games (a "red carpet"), and weeks where somehow you just keep winning. Keep at it, have fun, be happy & healthy, and keep making bomber videos i'll be supporting :-)

Great video man! I'm definitely invested in this. When I started playing Valorant it was the first video game I had touched since Black Ops 2 on xbox in 2015. Needless to say I was not good. I got placed Iron 2, and managed to climb up to Immortal 1 from there. I finally hit Immortal 1 in December of last year and have taken a 6 month break, but I'm restarting today and shooting for radiant as well! Climbing from Iron to Immortal was definitely quite an experience. I'm excited to see how you do and the things you learn. And yes, most people in Valorant have no regard for you as a human being, will say the worst slurs and rudest things for no reason, and it can take a toll. I find that going into the game with positive and goal-oriented comms can generally help stop this. If you're being nice, talking a bit, and just seem like a cool dude, others generally start to remember that they're communicating with a human being and it can help dissuade the... awfulness. Not a 100% fix by any stretch, but it's helped me. Not to mention comming is super important for increasing your winrate. That said, it's pretty easy to tell when people are going to keep saying things that are just insulting/tilting and won't be comming anything helpful, and muting those people as fast as possible is also a necessity for your overall enjoyment of the game. Excited to see your journey! This is a super cool thing for you to document. Best of luck!

Also to me this is super relatable, since I'm over thirty and been wanting to play games like Valorant or CS:GO but I've never really played shooter and have potato aim. I just don't think I could handle the toxicity of these communities. I played some rocket league and it was quite common that teammates or opponents wanted to forfeit after 30sec of playing in a 5 min game and when you don't forfeit they just keep flaming you. I wish you all the best on your journey and hope that you're successful and if also no problem cause at least you learned something from it ;)

I have always loved games and esports and the competition as well as the way you slowly improve over time. Your genuine and vulnerable vibe has been the only thing of late to make me feel less alone. Idk if I can survive if I quit my job to grind alongside you (although to be fair, I spend half the time “working at home”) but I can’t say it’s not incredibly tempting. I feel I'm in a somewhat similar situation since I just graduated college and am currently feeling lost while trying to get a position in an overly saturated job market. A big leap of faith like this away from a normal job and "expected" lifestyle is really inspiring, and I hope you get the satisfaction you're looking for from it. Excited to follow your journey 🔥

Hey man don’t be so hard on yourself. Be someone you want to be alone with, someone that isn’t breaking you down all the time. You’re an amazing courageous human being. And you should see that in yourself. You’re leaving everything behind something a lot of people want to do but can’t because the way society is and fears. Be proud and good luck. I believe in you but that doesn’t matter if you don’t believe in yourself.

You got this!! I'm literally about to do the same (trying to edit my first video, but its going slowly haha) I can't believe youtube recommanded this video! Its like they knew haha I've always wanted to make videos. I did start youtube when I was in 9th grade in 2012, but due to some silly reason I stopped and deleted everything. Like you I've been a consumer of youtube for many years and worked normal jobs while spending my free time gaming. Now I'm 27, and excited to start my youtube journey again! I had a hard time starting because I felt that I needed to pick a niche(I thought about gaming, crafting. I thought about twitch vs youtube, lots of overthinking), but after much overthinking.... well I decided that I was overthinking it! Best of luck to both of us! We got this!!!! For starting Valorant 2 weeks prior you are actually pretty good. I know when I started (about a year ago) I was iron and now after some breaks in between I reached my dream rank or diamond. It’s all about the grind and the people you play with. A recommendation from me to you would be to find someone or a group of people that you enjoy playing with. Even if you win or lose your only goal should be to have fun, don’t care about the negatives or losing.

A fellow Yoru main here, Yoru's playstyle is unlike most duelists and a lot of people don't understand that so we get a lot of comments during games asking us to entry more or play a certain way, don't let people that don't play your agent bully you and tell you how to play, be confident in yourself and learn from your own mistakes, not what other people tell you to do. Your understanding of the basics are really impressive for someone that's new and I'm sure you'll be climbing the ranks in no time! Amazing video and editing, really love your chill and laid back vibe!

I messed up sending so I'll try again. You looked, look and sound awesome. Don't be hard so hard on yourself, no we're not thinking those things you felt we were, like about your English and professionalism, and also if it doesn't go as far as you want either, it's tough. Anyways, I became a lot more optimistic when seeing your mental and all the game footage 2-3 weeks in from this video. Obviously, don't compromise your health, both physical and mental, try to enjoy the process even though it will be a grind at times. Don't forget to go outside, I know I have caught myself doing that when I suddenly stopped needing to travel to work. Sleep well, 9 hours comfortable in a dark room if you can. Genuinely hope, and actually believe this could go well, so good luck, and at least you'll have learnt from the experience at the absolute minimum. We're all routing for you, and have our support. I know Aim Trainer has a 7 day routine, about 30-45 minutes a day from what I've seen, that I want to start doing, and might be helpful if you're looking for some guidance or a warm-up routine. This is the link, but you can also just go straight to the website itself: www.3daimtrainer.com/valorant-aim-trainer-guide-tips/

Hey a lot of things to work on here. But that’s okay. First “default”- it’s where you basically pressure all parts of the map to learn where everyone is. The most important part of a default is to make sure that wherever you are going there is a teammate with you that will be able to trade you out if you die, you also want to make sure that you don’t have teammates that are also pushing to far up into a site and ending up getting killed for it. Once you guys figure out where they’re set up for example their sentinel is set up on b and you hear that, call to the team that cypher is b for example. Then from there you rotate to mid or an and from there take the site how you usually would do it. Either a mid-b split or etc etc. another com that you will hear is “playing contact” contact is where your team walks down a main entrance to a site making sure to not make any noise with utility foot step or whatever. And once you see an enemy and they see you. Then contact is made and from there you use flashes etc to take the site. If you’re contacting you want to make sure that they don’t push control of another main and get info on your position from there even though they haven’t seen you they make the assumption that you’re there because lack of pressure on other areas. So you probably want to have either someone making noise on the other site while you contact up a-b or you have the person waiting for a push. Well I hope this helps you understand the game better, although they’re pretty complex ideas it’s better to learn them when you just start so that you can build ideas in your calling that work from your experiences. Hope to see you in high ranks some day good luck 😊

This is awesome to see, love your vibe man! you are going to crush this year, cant wait for more off this.!! little tip learn some movement, just how the character moves around in air using different keys to strafe. that way you will feel more comfortable taking fights and also how to make your self hard to hit, (hard to hit hard to die) one more little thing is also try to get your subconscious aim to be at head level. communication is also key (positivity)

I really love videos like this that show the perspective of an actual beginner. As someone who thinks their decent at valorant, i would say that for your time in the game you are really good. As much as you say your aim sucks, you have great habits like basic strafing, not immediately crouching when entering a gunfight, and not spraying your gun in panic(things i still sometimes do in diamond). I would say to improve your util usage. As a duelist, kills are important, but getting your team onto site is also important. I noticed alot of moments in your gameplay where a flash or fake yoru would have helped immensely. Try too always use all of your util every single round(ofcourse dont just throw it out, but be scouting for oppurtunities). Overall a great video, although you could have just a quick timelapse with cuts in the beginning for all your warmups, while voiceing it over rather than showing a bunch of time in aimlabs. i love how you show just as many losses as wins, and the text saying what you should have done is great. Even if you just do it for the viewer, rewatching your games and finding mistakes is something almost every pro does to improve, and whether or not it was on purpose, doing that is great for your development. Keep going, i would love to see more! EDIT: I saw in the last placement match, when everyone else wanted to ff but you, you said how you would have to face players like neon to/when you rank up. Thats such a good mentality that no one talks about. I think you have a really strong mental, and for sure have all the fundamentals too be really good at this game.
