”I Quit” represents the feeling I had after the last round. In the video I battle those feelings and try to turn them around into something more meaningful - motivation and willingness to improve. Thanks for watching this series and keep on playing chess - no matter what it’s always going to be my favorite game :) And oh - I’m never quitting!

I agree. In my opinion, clickbait gets clicks in the short run, but ruins your brand and goodwill in the long run. It's a tabloid approach to content creation that doesn't respect viewers. I used to watch a lot of Levy's videos, but eventually I had to block all his channels from my feed because I just got fed up with trash titles and trash thumbnails.

Honestly, so many of these tournament games feel like Anna is close to achieving something great. Shes strong as it is already, it just feels like she only needs a liiiiittle less midgame blunders and a liiiiiittle bit of better timemanagement and she will suddenly easily play at 2200 rating strength or better. It's super fun to watch you play these complicated tactical positions Anna, I'll keep rooting for you.

@@juliobyron8478 ok, you faced my aggression, so then I am going to respond by saying sorry. I am sorry. However, my rhetoric is that I do not agree that an explanation for this clickbait is needed, because I strongly disagree that it is clickbait. It is ONLY clickbait, if it makes viewer believe something which is not/partially not true. Her quitting chess or tournaments or her KZbin channel is completely out of the question, thus by definition it is not clickbait. Clickbait is only clickbait when even with common sense you do not know if it's true or not, in this case common sense is enough to understand that she isn't quitting anything. Any new viewer will also not be clickbaited by definition, because they have not invested time into watching her, or they don't know who or what she is quitting, but more importantly they wouldn't care because they are a new viewer. If an old-time viewer seriously thinks that this is clickbait, I would argue that they have not seen a single video of hers. (which would be funny considering they are an old viewer ! ;))

Please Anna dont clickbait. We unterstand your feelings after the tournaments. I had during my live, which is significantly longer than yours, many setbacks. A setback is only another waypoint to success. Each failure is a learning experience and important cause from mistakes you can learn so much more than from things which run according to our plans. In my country there is a saying: „Er/Sie irrt sich vorwärts“ I dont know how to translate that properly. Most likely: We fail in the direction to our goal. I milk my failures and try to dismantle them from any possible direction. They are my most treasured experiences. But whom do I tell? You are so much more talented and hardworking than me. Look what you achieved already! And what you will achieve in future! You can be so proud of you

A good strategy for white in the Tarrasch Defense to the Queen's Gambit Declined is to isolate black's pawn on d5, blockade that pawn with a knight on d4, and fianchetto a bishop on g2, with the goal of eventually capturing the isolated pawn. This strategy is elucidated in How to Play the Opening in Chess, by GM Raymond Keene, whom Pia Cramling defeated on her way to making her IM norm.

This comment is directed towards Anna's Mother and Father! How proud you must be watching your highly skilled and talented daughter navigate the "chess world" with such enthusiasm and youthful charm! I know very little about playing chess other than being able to name each piece correctly 😊😊. Watching her elaborate and detail strategy, along with each misstep that occurs, really encourages me to learn more about the game! I always thought I could never be a great player of the game because I lack the patience and knowledge of chess. I was wrong in part, and watching her videos leaves me with wanting to learn more! I always try to look at the "bigger" picture in anything I do, whether it's a game or in real life! She seems to be similar, yet wiser beyond her years with the logic it takes to be successful in both. I would suggest a new title for this video!?!? Rather that "I quit", how about "I learned something valuable today because of a few mistakes".... As long as we continue to learn something new, and are better for it, it will never truly be a mistake! Sure, you lost a few points in this tournament, yet you gained a thousand, marching towards your future. Your videos are about being a better player, not at all about anything to do with quitting! God bless

Hi Anna, I don’t usually comment, but I have to, after some of the comments you are describing! Firstly I just want to say how much I am enjoying your OTB journey to get 2200 and get closer to becoming a WIM. You have it inside you. I know your Mom believes you can! So keep believing. Also, how on Earth you expect to do so well when it is only your second high rating OTB tournament this year surprises me! You are so used to playing speed chess tournaments, where you don’t have time to calculate, just react, and use your intuition. OTB tournaments require different skills, and you are just suffering from OTB ring rust!! So maybe after playing five or six of these very competitive tournaments then maybe you can expect to do much better! Anyhow, that is what I think. Please thank your Mom for such superb commentary on your games, I have really enjoyed it, and your recaps! Keep believing in yourself Anna, and getting more OTB practice and you will reach your goals!

I struggle with this mindset too. What works for me is that every time I think the thought of really disliking something I play it. A lot. Sometimes it is really hard to figure it out, but if I have already decided to de-buff myself it probably is my biggest weakness so it needs to go. The only problem is.. I keep on really disliking stuff my opponents play.

Anna I'm so sorry you've gotten mean comments from other posters! I love watching your videos and hearing your analyses. I've learned more from you about chess, most of all, that it's not a game you can love if it's all about winning. It's about learning and growing and analyzing past games so you can get better. You're a tribute to so many chess players who aspire to get better.

You approached the whole game wrong ? You should have started with the “ east vegreville chesterfield “ … How that works is as you walk up to the opponent smiling and reach out your right hand for a handshake then , with your left, you whack him with a tire iron . Then giggle , say “sorry” and proceed . Even if he can focus on the game he’ll likely be distracted. Only if you MUST win at any cost ….

Hi Anna, love watching your games! You always have a great attitude, and you're always positive and smiling, even after suffering defeat, which is why you're a joy to watch. I do think that one of your biggest mistakes, though, is underestimating your opponents. They're there to win too, and they could be on a rating climb. My advice would be to not even consider their rating and just play your best chess, because that's what they are likely to do. But if you ever need an ego boost, I'm always up for a game! Looking forward to your next tournament! Good luck and keep doing what you love!

06:26 "i thought i was doing good" Well, if black was a French-opening player, he would tell you he already has a dream position. White-squared bishop is gone, white's pawn is on e3, instead of e5, but white still has weak c3 pawn and there is a pawn majority on queen side which just asks to be rolled. I don't play French anymore, but I used to play it a lot. I can't recall a number of wins as black in easier positions with French.

I've really enjoyed watching you play chess in the last two tournaments, especially in Menorca which is an Island I've visited on holiday a number of times - it's a beautiful place. It's great to see a young woman like yourself playing chess and also your mother. But I notice that practically all the opponents you have played in these tournaments are men (or boys). Are there many other women who play because Chess seems like one of the few competitive sports (or games) where men and women can compete together on an equal footing (like more racing). I really enjoy your videos and I hope you can inspire other women and girls to take up the game. Best wishes for the future.

We love watching you, you are so pretty❤‍🩹and your bubbly personality is what makes you a star💥. Among all the chess players at the tounament there wouldn't be anyone to match your talent - just look at the faces as they receive their prizes😶. Top marks for you Anna💯, keep on keeping on. Cheers

The alarm brain is precisely because you have so many of them set: The brain learns to filter out the unimportant ones. Change your alarm sound to something completely different and then set only one alarm for the time you actually plan to wake up. Also, consider how many hours you actually tend to be asleep when deciding when to go to bed.

12:51 anyone saying that to her in comment section would never be able to beat her in a chess game. people who are good chess players promote the game and promote people and give advice that got them through difficult times. haters are the people who could never obtain what the person they are criticizing has obtained and they are envious, so they hate on them.

Time trouble and bad moves/games/tournaments will happen at any level, and so will critics. It's part of being a content creator of competitive games. I wouldn't worry too much about it.
