What an amazing amount of work must have gone into this wonderfully joyous video! The music and edit along with all the smiling faces made this as enjoyable watch as it seems to have been to shoot. It just keeps getting better, Noah. 😃

This was a great video and well done to the group representing maritimers well. Used to take this train from Moncton to Charny and Montreal many many years ago. Definitely due for a return.

Glad you enjoyed it! Charny is not used as a station anymore sadly, it’s now been replaced by Ste Foy across the St Lawrence River

Great video! One comment....pay the toll next time lol. The bridge is more of straight run out of town. No traffic lights at all once you hit the bridge.

Noah!!!!! You have no idea how this one video changed my entire life!!! I start my VIA Rail training journey on May 23 in Halifax. When I see you, I will tell you the whole, insanely weird turn of events that began with ‘Racing the train to Moncton’! See you on the rails!

Train travel is easily my favourite way to travel within Canada! You should try out the Polar Bear Express train that runs through North Ontario from Cochrane to Moosonee on the James Bay. I'll bet that would be a train ride unlike any other. I've always wanted an excuse to do it, so if you ever do decide to make a video on it let me know, I can give you a ride to Cochrane from Ottawa and be your filming assistant haha :P

Have you heard the song Matapédia (1996) by Kate and Anna Mcgarrigle. It's about racing the train. "Once upon a time two kids in love /in a car were flyin' over mountains / Trying to catch a boat that'd take 'em up river to home.../ And they raced the Matapedia/ Sixty minutes sixty miles/ Thirty minutes thirty miles/ Twenty minutes twenty miles/ Ten nine eight.../ And I was not afraid/ No, I was not afraid/ Well we made the boat with minutes to spare/ And we crossed on over to the other side/ And back home, safe and sound."
@NokiTravels5 ай бұрын
@@pkellyspurles that’s so cool! I visit Matapedia since I work on board the Ocean train, so I see the valley and the town almost twice a week. One of the most beautiful places I’ve ever visited! I’ll have to check out the song :))

Great video! I remember when The Ocean just had the REN cars but recently in the last few years, there has always been BUDD cars at the beginning of the train. I wonder what determines if BUDD cars make the journey? Also, is there a reason why they would put them in BUDD coach instead of REN coach? From what I remember, it is all economy 🤪. Looks like there are no solo 1 seaters either, just 2 and 4 together in BUDD coach.
@NokiTravels Жыл бұрын
As of now, I hear they’re trying to phase out the Renaissance cars due to them being at the end of their maintenance lifetime. The crew usually determines who goes in what car based on destination; there’s no “secret business class” or anything, it’s all economy! For example, the manager may organize it that everyone going to Montreal, Moncton, and Bathurst will go in the Ren coach, while everyone else goes in the HEP coach. It’s all up to the manager. Hope this helps!

this looks really fun to do. too bad for me there is no reason to go on trains on long island. the video is really good quality and the little facts are interesting and informative. the editing is just amazing. you deserve 1k subs right now

Hi Noah, Thanks for making your interesting, enthusiastic and fun videos! I enjoy watching your videos. I will visit Canada for the first time. Do you know whether train tickets have to be booked in advance or can you also buy train tickets on the day of departure? Unlike the UK, the cost of train tickets in the Netherlands is not variable on the same route, but how is that in Canada? I hope you can help me. Kind regards, Marc (The Netherlands)
@NokiTravels Жыл бұрын
Greetings Marc!! While it’s possible to buy tickets the day of your trip, it’s not ideal since the train could be sold out. Usually it’s best to buy them weeks to months in advance for the cheapest fares/best availability. The cost is usually based on the distance you travel and the class, of course. The ticket here cost us $75, so if I were to rebook it again, it would cost me $75. Hope this helps!!
