Blue is so adorable 🥰 I'm like you I wait till I'm down to nothing left to eat to go grocery shopping and I have no excuse cause I live in an apartment and the store is less than a mile away from me. But the one and only grocery store here where I live in Montana is a lot more expensive than other stores. I try to shop online at Walmart and have it shipped (a lot cheaper) since it's 60 miles from me. Lately I've been stocking up for a month on items that don't have to be refrigerated just to not have to shop all the time. I've been thinking 🤔 if I were to car camp I would stock up for a month and only eat food you don't have to cook or refrigerate even if it's room temperature out of a can. Not a big time chef either. Just to keep things as minimal as possible. No need to have cooler or camp stove pots pans etc. Of course would have to have some way to boil water because I love my organic coffee ☕. You are so brave to be out there at night in 🐻 country. I won't hike too far in trails here in the day much less night because of 🐻 s. But can't let fear get in the way of enjoying such beautiful places. Plus Blue would surely let you know if something was around.💕

You might look into the electric fencing you can buy for camping in bear country to put around your perimeter as an added layer of warning and protection, and a long line for Blue if you had the fencing up so Blue stays off of it.🐾🌻🐕

The Ross Fork fire is in Stanley, Ketchum has a fire and we even had a fire today east of Twin Falls on hwy. 84....it's been super dry up here this summer-I've lived here 3+ years (and mind you, I'm a NorCal transplant from the Sierra Nevadas, where it is fire central this time of year). Thing about bear spray in bear country is you need to have it on you at a hair trigger cuz most likely you wont see the bear until its almost too late. Dogs are a good warning though. Once I was in yellowstone and a bison snuck up on me next to my car and I didn't notice it until it was literally 5 feet from my face. I only noticed when the dog in the camper van next to me started barking its brains out. The thing was almost the size of my car and i didn't hear or see it at all. I hadnt even unpacked my bear spray yet, and if it was a bear I never would have had a second to reach for it.

I keep a trash bag on the floor of my passenger seat that I constantly empty whenever I get near a trash can. I don’t keep it outside of the car especially in bear country- it can attract animals you don’t wanna run into!
