one other super quick small thing. that salty humid air will wreak havoc on your rigs metal body panels (rust & corrosion). once you make your way away from the coast run by a car wash and rinse Poe if you're able.

With regards to the sink. Remove the tape. Then put the stopper in the sink and fill it with water. Look under the sink and if it is dripping the leak is coming from the drain connection, use plumbers putty or silicone. If it is not leaking, remove the stopper and drain the sink, and watch where the water is coming from, then fix the connection with Teflon tape. (I did notice that there is a paper sticker on the bottom of the bowl where the drain is, I am guessing, that may be your issue. Good luck.

You may want to look into a ThermaCell to repel the skeeters. You may also want to look into those screens for your doors since you have door frames on the Defender. I wonder if it would possible to get replacement windows for the back of Poe that open and have screens on them.....if you were interested. One last thing, you can get insulated window covers for when you are in colder climates. Love the adventures you and Blue have, I travel vicariously through your videos!

I had a bit of an idea.... The seat-base of a Defender is, as I'm sure you know, a separate, removeable, part of the seat. It should be pretty easy to make an entirely new seat-base from wood. The seat-base attaches with 4 steel pegs (two at the back and one on each side at the front). It should be possible to make a wooden frame (out of, say 2" x 2" wood) and then put 4 bolts through it to replicate the 4 metal pegs that fix it in place. You could then build a flat wooden platform on top of the frame that extends all the way forward to the dashboard, big enough for a proper dog bed, to give Blue more space, and you wouldn't have to worry about him slipping off the seat when you hit the brakes. If you wanted to be really clever you could make the platform hinge at the back (kind of like a toilet seat) so it lifts up for Blue get in and out, and so you can access anything stored under the platform. You could keep the original seat-base in the footwell, store stuff on top of it, Blue would have his platform AND you could swap everything back if you ever have a human passenger. Also, while, I'm at it, you should buy yourself a half-decent air-compressor... and a foot-pump. If you're planning on driving on beaches, it's best to lower your tyre pressure to avoid getting stuck. Of course, once you've let air out of your tyres to drive on a beach, you'll need the compressor to pump them back up again when you get off the beach. And, the foot-pump is for when, inevitably, the compressor decides to die just when you need it to pump up your tyres.

Hey Maria and Blue another nice post, if the insects are really bad and you don't want them in the vehicle you are off to a good start turn off the lights to not attract so many of them, but I think you should get yourself a nice little bug-zapper that you can keep hung up in the corner, can hang it somewhere. A good enough one really works when we get quite a lot of fruit flies, mosquitos, etc. they end up dying in the zapper a lot sooner than later. The main thing is it works better in the dark as that would be the only source of light that would attract them to their own demise. Up to you what you choose, but it would make your insect worries much better.

Fantastic idea! I love it! Just make sure to avoid the chemical kind that baits them to the light. Get the bright light zapper only versions because they have carcinogens in the bait kind & are therefore only meant for outdoor use. After the research I've done, I would be upset if my neighbor put one in their yard because it spreads carcinogens that cover a 2 acre radius. Please be safe & get the old fashioned kind. Also, I was thinking some of those mosquito curtains with magnets would help.

You may want to have your fan blowing under your sink to dry it out to avoid mold. And I wonder if you get a small dehumidifier if it would help with the condensation in the rig. Blue looks so soft and clean 😍 he's such a good boy!

If you can Pedernales Falls is beautiful! For the mosquito problem I always have one of those rechargeable bug zappers with me. For the condensation you need some window screens so you can crack the windows. Don’t get the ones that go over the window. The defender is metal, so you could rig some with magnets to go inside the window frame.

I often google what my dog can eat so I am not feeding him something bad. I am sure Blue will be fine, but may end up with upset stomach, diarrhea or vomiting from oranges. I know he didn't eat much, just wanted you to be aware. Love watching you both and stay safe.

Hey, I'm no professional, do you have proper ventilation in Bo while you sleep? I'm thinking that since the temp. probably drops, your breath while you sleep is generating a lot of moisture, not to mention the humid air around you. I've noticed it's not really collecting condensation on the ceiling during the day while you're in and out of the vehicle. So, maybe if you install a small fan near the ceiling to suck the humid air out at night... maybe that will help. Or, they have really cheap plug-in dehumidfiers that you can drain with a tube through a tiny hole in the floor. Or, as a temp. last resort... get a couple of those little closet silica-gel dehumidifier things to soak up excess moisture in the cab. Just shooting some ideas at you for relief!

Blue is so beautiful!!! Avon skin so soft sprayed around your doors and windows repels mosquitoes and it’s great to use on your skin. I believe they even make one with spf in it. I don’t know about other places but Tulsa Oklahoma has a store front Avon. Dunno if you have air conditioning in Poe but if you do you can make it really cold and it slows them down to kill them easier lol. Your journey is so much fun and exciting to watch! @@serenityjewel 😱 where I live we don’t have a lot of mosquitoes but 75 mi south where my kids are they’re horrible!!! All the rice fields make it a terrible problem! And I’ll end up living there when I get older ugh lol 😂 Bless your heart I wish those things worked. Have you tried lemon grass plants by your door and lemon grass essential oils? I just try not to use any poisons but hey I will to keep ticks off me! I already have alpha gal which is allergy to red meat since a lone star tick bite. ❤️🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻

Ok girl… here it is: if you take a peel from that orange and fold it with the orange side out, you’ll see the orange oil spray out of it in a fine mist. THATS what your pup knows that you don’t:) Just point towards your eyes or nasal cavity…and feel the buuurrrn….it’s instinctive for him:) Now for your benefit: put a thickish bath mat or towel on your front seat so ‘bubby’s’ dirt/sand doesn’t cut into your nice leather and ruin it. All it involves is a quick shake and you’re good to go:)

i camp out of my prius and i just bought a small dehumidifier and it works great... i plug it into my jackery and barely uses any power its a 1500 jackery. usually i just sleep with the windows down with covers so no bugs so i dont need to use it but if its cold or city camping and i need to seal the car up i use it and it helps ALOT

I’m sure it’s been mentioned but, does your sink bowl have a sealant around the top to prevent water from splashing out of the bowl and dripping down under? Is the sink caulked on top to the wood? Because maybe it’s just splashed water dripping down the side of the sink under to your storage? Just a thought.

If you are into wildlife refuges at all, there is a series of them along the Texas gulf coast. I know you're not a fan of the humidity, but some of them make for great day trips.

You could spend a day in Galveston on our beach line. If you want out of the humidity you could head up farther north like Fredericksburg, Austin up through that way. Texas offers a lot were like 800 + miles across. Good luck with your trip.💛👍

Swing by Washington county, Texas! It is the birthplace of Texas (Washington on the brazos) and home of ANIMAL FRIENDS OF WASHINGTON COUNTY. It has 3 great dog parks and my Australian shepherd, BAUSSIE loves it! After the dog parks you can then grab blue bell ice cream. I think you'll enjoy it.

We had a Dutch Bros right by where I lived. The city asked them to re-locate (I think they received some compensation from the city) because it was at a major intersection, and lines to get in were backing up traffic.

Welcome to TEXAS!! you are in Orange Tx, super close to where we live in Houston. There are amazing dog parks in Houston! Great places to eat. The days might start out Gray but then the sun comes out right now. If you want beautiful beaches head to Corpus Christi Tx or Port Isabel Tx which is near the Mexico border and Mexican food is everywhere.. The water off Mustang Island is blue green. Keep in mind It can take up to 2 days to get out of Texas depending on where you are. Best wishes!!

Again not sure if or when you will see this. I have bit into the orange skin b4. But years back my Mom would cut the orange into 8 pieces - you hold the wee tip and pull the fruit off the skin. Turn your insides lights to red.

Crack the windows at night to control the condensation in your truck, or you need some type of fresh ear serculation. But, moisture in your vehicle every night will create mold, and rust. Not good to inhale.

Blue is so proud of how he looks and what a good boy he was for the groomer. From my experience, Aussies love being groomed and are puddy in your hands, less the nails. He looks marvelous! Hope the new food works for him. I had to put my girl on a Lamb and rice formula, either Iams or Science Diet, can't remember which. Sure they have better ones these days. As I mentioned before, she developed an allergy to a corn mix. Did great on the rice and Lamb mix. Only carrots or lean meat people food occasionally, in her bowl, she never begged. Regular teeth brushing with dog toothpaste is also helpful as the breed has back molar problems latter in life. Just keep an eye on it when Blue is around 10 or so.

Girl, you are heading into Spring/Summer and until you're in the SW, humidity will be everywhere. Get those pull-over window screens so you can keep out mosquitoes, but get some air flowing. Get a squeegee for the windows. Get a chamois cloth and wipe down the inside exposed metal roof seams. Won't even take 10 minutes in the morning. Just a few tips from 5 houses from the Atlantic Ocean in MA, (where it's humid all year. _Nevermore are we able to resist the frizz._ 😉) Love ya, woman and doggo!
