What would be your reaction to seeing Matt?
@Karzir1 Жыл бұрын
@@Spherrum Honestly, I'm sure he's a nice guy and it would be cool to meet him, but I don't watch CR. I've learned a lot about DnD and DM'ing from Bob, for which I'm grateful for, so I'd rather hang out with him.
@Spherrum Жыл бұрын
@@Karzir1 I mean, perfectly understandable, but CR is not the only reason to be starstruck if you see him. He's also a voice actor, you know =) With a bunch of pretty big and popular roles, and countless lesser ones. I'm sure there are plenty of huge fans of his work without being fans of CR.

I'm seeing a trend of newer TTRPGs reducing the amount of rolls and crunch needed to keep things moving while still trying to keep some heroic flair, and knowing that Daggerheart seems to be going in that direction is great news to me. And we're all very happy that you got to meet Matt, too!

It's so cool that you got to have those experiences! There's something heartening in hearing that Matt was already aware of you and your channel, because your content is worth recognition and frankly, your takes on ttrpg topics are just... really good! The idea that you, Ginny Di, and Pointy Hat playtested Dagger Heart is wonderful, too. Each of you three make content that does a great job of thinking about, and often questioning, why things are done the way they are in D&D/ttrpg in general, while never forgetting that for all the questions and problems, a lot of people are out here just in love with the idea of it all. So happy you had a wonderful experience at PAX Unplugged, and also happy to see the new merch! That "keep building" shirt is such a cool design.

Yay, so happy to hear you got to meet your geek-crush, and had the guts to go say hi too! :D That must've been a very nice moment! What I'd like to hear more about Dragonheart is not about the specifics, but instead how the rules interact and how the game plays. What does the tension of the rolls feel like, does the two dice fear/hope feel more like a fun gimmick, or a central piece of the rules puzzle, and so on... also if you happen to have heard what things they're currently working on to adjust about the game, that's also very interesting. The action token mechanic you described about Daggerheart sounds very interesting! It does bear some similarity to momentum/threat points in Star Trek Adventures (or steam/pressure in Astraterra), but I don't remember if that mechanic has previously been associated directly with action economy like that. Do you know if that is a Daggerheart original mechanic? I'd love to hear more about how that feels to play too!
