in my school you aren’t allowed to take AP classes during freshman year, but luckily in 8th grade I was eligible for AP World History. Also, taking AP classes in my school isn’t as common... people would usually take 4 or more.

I chose (and am currently taking) AP Euro for the exact same reason. As soon as my counselor said AP Euro I said "That! I'll do that." I struggled initially (especially because there was a start-of-year test about AP HUG, which I didn't take), but I picked myself back up thankfully. Basically, just know what you're jumping into, and don't just take AP for the sake of taking AP. Now we're selecting our courses for next year, and even though I'm only in regular Algebra II, I still really want to take AP Precalculus. I totally understand its difficulty level and everything, but around November is when I realized I actual like math A LOT. Now I'm 1/3 done self-learning Precalculus as well as Calculus AB, and I'd like to take the AP of the former because if I know everything already, then when I get to class next year, I'm gonna be bored (kinda like how I am now). But if you don't know what you're jumping into and/or don't necessarily have an aptitude for that subject, don't take it because it looks good on your transcript. And the fact I plan to go to Calculus BC and want to major in Animation of all things.........means maybe I'll do math as a minor?

Just gonna comment with my opinions cuz it’s fun: AP Euro: absolutely loved this class; HOWEVER, I love history. If you like history, take it, but if you don’t like history absolutely do not take it because you will hate taking notes APChem: hated this class so much; it was really hard for me and my teachers were not great APCalc AB: eh, it’s fine. It’s the natural progression for math at my school so it makes sense to take it. This unit is getting hard tho :( AP Bio: I like this class a lot, but I also enjoy bio. It is SO MUCH easier than chem. Much more common sense based You do have to spend a lot of time on notes and understanding concepts APEnglishLang: absolutely adore this class; I like writing and the essays you do are super fun (I got to write one about SNL and Bo Burnham for a topic on satire). If you’re good at writing taking this class is a no brainer APES/APStats/APGOV: the easiest out of their respective subjects; AP classes for senior year

I find that the experience in the class is completely different from the exam. Last year I took APHG and had a really easy time in class but with COVID things got really messed up and I barely passed with a 3. yea my hs is insannee aha, for AP Stats I recommend just trying to get the basic concepts down because they are crucial to understand the later chapters. For APCSA, I recommend getting a barrons book or any AP book that has a lot of practice problems. For CSA, it's more important that you know how to solve different types of problems as well as being able to understand the coding language. I hope that helped! :D

hi!! I recommend just getting a solid AP book! i think bc apes is known to be a really easy class, a lot of ppl end up not studying at all and doing poorly on the actual exam. just consistently study, and you should perform well :))

hiii!!! hehe AP Chem is one of the more challenging classes but definitely doable! I also enjoyed math and chem in 10th grade, and I ended up doing decent in AP Chem. I recommend doing a lot of practice problems and possibly even studying during the summer to get a boost for junior year. I also recommend watching youtube videos on the different topics because there are a lot of tips and tricks out there! :))

Hey! I’m currently in AP Chem as a senior! I’m going to be completely honest, it’s a tricky class and you’re gonna have to work hard. That being said, it’s completely worth it. I absolutely love the challenge, and it has become my favorite class I’ve taken in high school. Working hard now is going to pay off a ton in college. The students who took AP chem in high school and are now in college regularly contact my teacher and tell her how grateful they are for having taken the class. My advice to you is DO PRACTICE FRQs!!! Sometimes practice FRQs I’ve done have shown up on our tests. Not only that, it’s great practice for the test in May. It’s great study material for multiple choice problems, too. With chem it’s kind of impossible to study by just looking over notes and using flash cards, but college board has a whole arsenal of great study material right there for you. So, if you take away anything from this comment, it’s do practice FRQs. (Oh my goodness I’m so serious about this it’s not even funny, swear to me you’ll do them).

I'm a junior taking AP Chem this year and it's honestly not for me but if you love math and are okay with not having too many real-world applications in science then I think you'll be okay taking it. It is a more difficult AP class and you really have to study a lot (don't do what I did and cram in the last few weeks lol). Also I highly recommend you make sure your intro-level chem skills are strong! I'm not sure if all AP chem teachers do it this way but my teacher just dove right into things and for the first month I was very lost because I had forgotten almost everything from regular chem (I took it over the summer before my sophomore year because I wanted to take AP Bio as a sophomore which was early) and had to catch up. If you feel the need to, don't hesitate to study over the summer and maybe even start some of the AP Chem content because I'm telling you, it will help a lot!

Hi! In my sophomore year, I took APCSA and AP Euro. I highly recommend not taking euro unless you really enjoy history. Instead, I would take an easier AP class, such as APES and AP Psych. I am not sure what classes are offered to you at your school, but I hope this helps!

@@GoogleUser-es9vs ap psych is such a fun and easy class just always memorize the terms and ur good :), ap world is VERY time consuming so if you are out 5 hours a day and go to bed at 10, 1-2 hours a day might not be enough if u don't manage your time good. For AP seminar I don't recommend taking it sophomore year its 2 year program start it in Junior year that way you take with AP Lang and already have two years of Honors English under ur belt which will be breeze. TLDR Manage your time well and only take ap psych and ap world

Hmm it really depends on if you enjoy learning about history and how your teachers are like. I’ve heard that ap world is slightly more difficult but I think it’s doable. I also think that a lot of the information would cross over between apush and ap world, so it might not be too bad!

Regular chem and AP chem have very little similarities you’ll be fine but the class is hard especially if online . definitely buy books to use if you consider yourself a slow learner because the book usually given by the school can be excessive and very overwhelming. Also after every unit don’t forget to study even after you finished the unit in school and get familiar with the periodic table, and idk if you have summer work but know how to do dimensional analysis and understanding every formula the ins and outs of it

If general chem isn't your favorite thing in the world then I don't recommend taking it. I like the bio part of chem so I thought I would like this class but I was completely wrong. If you do plan on doing a stem major in college, esp. a science one, then this might be a good foundational course. I think I am going to have a biological science major so I don't entirely regret taking ap chem but it was torture for me especially alongside calc bc. If you're gonna take it, I recommend studying a lot and having a good intro-level chem foundation because I did not and that screwed me over for the first month or so.
