31:06 100% agree with you. It may be the vibrancy of the colors or the addition of what I THINK is Wisteria, but this card is giving Demon Slayer. Specifically when Tanjiro had to pass his Demon Slayer exam in the Wisteria Forest in the first season.

i feel like i'm the very unpopular opinion among the twst fandom when it comes to halloween rook cuz i LOVE his groovy. i think he looks lazily sexy, he nails the vampire look, idk it does something for me. i've heard multiple people say they don't like it but genuinely i cannot relate. his LIVE2D for the card however. a mistake. the sheer black lip is not giving what it should be

Am I the only one who thought the reason why Leona, Kalim, and Jamil looked like they were white was because they were over exposed to light? Color is entirely dependent on the prescence/absence of light, so I assumed the fireworks and the blazing Savana sun were what "changed" their skin color.

Holy fuck I didn't realize the length oops- TLDR: I agree with your placement but I wanted to defend how the card lacks the mystery and power his other cards have I'm always a defender of Malleus' dorm uniform groovy though I do agree that it's not the best and could have better execution, but I will argue your point about it not having the same air of power and mystery, I think that's the point of the groovy art. In that part of his vignette Malleus is revealing just how little he understands people and how he wants to try harder, kind of breaking the image that he's this all-knowing powerful ruler that the standard art portrays. We get to see the more... for lack of a better word, human side of him, the side that he's had to repress in the wake of him being worshipped and regarded as a symbol instead of a person. Like I said, still could've had better execution (and better color saturation levels lmao) but I love the contrast between how others see Malleus vs. a more true depiction of who he truly is. We had a good first step with him being mostly out of his dorm uniform adorments and seeing his scales though.

Oooh that's a good way to look at the groovy yeah. In the context of the vignette it does make sense that Malleus is portrayed in a softer and gentler approach compared to his other cards (like his dorm standard). But yeah they could've tweaked the card just a tiny bit more so it wouldn't feel so out of place execution-wise 🥲🥲 Thank you for your very insightful comment!!

Hello again Lily! I have a feeling that I probably will leave a more detailed comment on my ranking of cards if or when I have the time. Things have been pretty hectic for me, unfortunately. However, I really wanted to say a personal subjective opinion of mine that I have been sitting on for so, so long that I do not know why I never mentioned it at all. It was SO VALIDATING hearing you say that the Groovies for the Platinum Jacket cards have not been great at all. I do not like any of them, except for Rook's, much like you, (and he is a character that I have complex feelings for, much like Ace), which is disappointing because I was really hoping for the Platinum Jacket designs to be in game. Even for personal fan favorite characters, I am going to pass on them when this series hits the English version next year. Which I guess is good because I'll be saving all the keys. (And hoo boy am I going to need them. I was bummed that 2023 in the Japanese server didn’t have too many cards I wanted, but 2024 (in the Japanese server) is starting to make up for it so 2025 (in the English server) is going to be fun for my keys and/or gems. Like I said in a comment under one of Little-Bean’s calendar videos: “Oh, the woes of Gacha gaming; wanting to see more of your favorites getting cards, but being in despair of wanting to get them all.” I'll have to look at Jack's Platinum Jacket Card Groovy art again since I do not remember what it looks like off the top of my head, but I don't mind Cater's too much, either, but haven't decided if I will pull for Cater’s yet since he is a personal fan favorite. There is still time to decide, though. I am looking forward to the Platinum Jacket series concluding come Riddle's birthday because I am honestly so done with it due to both the Groovy arts being underwhelming and the presenter choice being questionable or odd for some of the characters, or dodging possible combinations that should have happened. I am looking forward to whatever is next. Bloom Broom cards have been my favorite birthday card series by far. Nothing will top those. At least, for me. Haha. (When ranking the Birthday card series, I would put Bloom Broom at number 1, Union Jacket at number 2, Birthday Boy Suit Up at number 3, and Platinum Jacket at number 4. One being good, four being bad. I don’t have any issues with the Birthday Boy Suit Up cards, I just think I prefer the Union Jackets (in terms of the outfits design) a bit more, so that is why they are at the Number 3 spot.) A little addendum that I did not do yesterday. My apologies for returning! I think a solution for the Port Fest Rook card would have been to have gone a different direction for the card story than what they went with. Not because there’s anything wrong with the story - it is super cute - but the reason I think they went with Yuu’s photo over Rook’s is because card illustrations for a specific character need to include the character they belong to. With Rook’s photo, he wouldn’t have been in it. I know that context from the story would explain why he isn’t there, but it wouldn’t be much of a Rook card, without, well Rook. A solution could’ve done to include him in the photo he took is pretty simple since tripods and a camera timer are things that exist, but it wouldn’t feel natural if Rook wasn’t already part of the ruckus, rather than just…randomly popping into it. He’d be out of place. A direction they could have gone with would be forgo the concept of a photo contest, and just had Rook and Yuu taking photos for the sake of commemorating the festivities of Port Fest (which wouldn’t be out of character). Maybe pretty early on into the story Rook runs into Yuu, greets Yuu, and asks to accompany Yuu, taking photos together. Maybe at some point during the second part, Rook notices that it is almost time to participate in the show, so he parts ways with Yuu, which then leads to the Groovy Art that we were given. ~ ~ ~ I know that obviously Ace now has two R cards, but at the time he didn’t. When you said, “I wonder what sort of blackmail that Ace has against Yana,” for him not receiving a single R card yet, it had me wondering the same exact thing for another character: Kalim. I know the word, blackmail and Kalim being used in the same sentence may seem odd, but, out of all the characters, he has the most total SSRs, between birthday cards, the dorm uniform card, event cards, the clubwear card, and now the special Book 7 card. I know the difference between some characters - not all - and Kalim in terms of total SSR’s received, is just two, which is not a whole lot, it’s just that a bulk of the cards he has received have been SSR. Between 2022 and 2023, he has received 6 new SSRs, and now, in 2024, he has received two, counting his birthday and the soon to be released Book 7 one. On top of that, there also hasn’t been much of a pause between when he receives them next and he also has not received many event SR or R cards in comparison to other characters. I have been working on more detailed comment about this that I am possibly planning to leave under Little-Bean’s recent calendar update video, but I am editing it. I tend to use the voice dictation on my tablet, which is not perfect. I proofread and edit a lot of the mistakes it makes transcribing. Maybe I can share some of that here. But I will mention from that comment that there are characters in the main cast who have not seen a new event SSR in nearly four years, if not has already been four. For some of those characters, if they have seen a non-event, non-birthday SSR, it is coming up on two years ago, for those that were lucky enough to receive a club wear card sooner, rather than later. It is frustrating, really, that a lot of characters get cast aside in favor of others. I am still waiting for their time in the spotlight again, regardless of how I feel about them personally. If I recall correctly, Jack has 6 event R cards and Trey has 4. Anyways, hope you have been doing well! :)

that is such a cute idea for rook's groovy!! omg🥺 it's a weird line that we kinda have to accept with twst: the fact that the groovies kinda need to "match" sometimes, but the downside is that it makes them end up a little boring lmao and yeah, kalim also has *a lot* of SSR cards. I feel so bad for the jack and trey fans cuz they're going through a drought. pomefiore is also a dorm that gets a LOT of attention so you can see that its very uneven amongst the cast. but i think that's a common problem with gacha cards games in general (speaking as a project sekai fan) 😔😔 thank you for your wonderfully insightful comments!!
