One of my favorite for sure and that's one that I played a lot as a kid so there's good memories of it too. But wow is it a unique game in general let alone an assassin's creed game. I’m weirdly a Valhalla defender. I couldn’t even really tell you why. England is beautiful, Eivor is charming and relatable. The whole Isu-reincarnation subplot is actually fascinating and conceptually brilliant. But I also agree with basically every commonly held complaint, so. Idk.

My favorite game is AC Odyssey; there's no better game that captures ancient Greece with such a broad scope and attention to detail. It accurately presents aspects like salt and dye production, among many others. I also liked Alexios as a character.

Odyssey is an amazing game, I get peoples complaints about the assassins stuff but for me the story isn’t nearly as important as fun and good gameplay and for me odyssey delivers in that category big time! And the game is just insanely big if you get it on sale it’s an excellent value you can it play for literally 100s of hours. Hands down a solid 8-9/10 game in my opinion!

I love Odyssey. I wanted that time period for a long time, it’s a gorgeous game. But the fact that you can choose your own narrative loses it points in my mind. Assassin’s Creed is supposed to be the “real history” of what happened. How can this be “real history” if everyone gets a different game? It’s such a fundamental misunderstanding of the Assassin’s Creed franchise. Honestly, Odyssey feels like another company bought Ubisoft and started making Assassin’s Creed games. It’s good, but just sticks out like a sore thumb. Like it was made by people who don’t really like or know Assassin’s Creed.

To be honest the tier list is fair everybody have a different taste of game but I do have mixed feelings about this list like AC1, odyssey and valhalla should be at c tier don't get me wrong three of them are good games of they own AC1 is better then both of them since it's not too long to finish it and odyssey is better then valhalla when it comes to story in my opinion and let's be real odyssey and valhalla are not assassin's creed games without the assassin's and templars conflict against each other and both games did success in sales but it did not stop it for getting backlash from most AC fans and for unity it's a S tier to me because how funny it is and I was fortunate to not have bugs or glitches in the game and I understand the story is not the best but it's good enough for me like it so great video

AC1 is better than most people think. Best combat and parkour in the series. Much more to combat than attack and counter. Slow climbing doesn't matter most of the time because there are ways to avoid it when not climbing a viewpoint. I recommend anyone to watch some tutorials on these things then give it another go.

I have to say that I wildly disagree with this video. I liked Unity, having my favourite combat system, Revelations with the best story and parkour system imo, and Mirage having more stealth than Valhalla. Valhalla and Odyssey were not Assassin's Creed games. I enjoyed them, but Odyssey didn't even have Assassins or Templars. I have no idea why you would place Odyssey in S tier. I loved Rogue, but I still think it's B tier at best. Revelations, Syndicate, Unity, Mirage, hell, even the original AC were better games than Rogue. Rogue was copy-pasted from BF in almost every way imaginable. That said, while I disagree with your opinions immensely, I respect them. No new subscriber, unfortunately.

I wouldn’t put Assassins creed 2 in S tier. It didn’t really go all that much into taking things into a new direction at all. It just expanded on what the first one offered and cleaned up some things. Still absolutely great game, i’d just have it in “A” alongside brotherhood. Realistically the only one i would put in “S tier” is Black flag… as that changed it up quite a bit and did a FANTASTIC job. The ship battles, the fact your just a. pirate who stumbled into the assassins and you just help them because your goals align. I like that and it displays how the assassins absolutely outsourced, as any organization like there’s would at times. Though i also quite liked “Rouge” as My home province is in the game 😅 Was the first area i 100% in the game LOL

Finally someone actually thinks that AC syndicate is great! Because if you really think about it, it's a better version of AC unity. The stealth is WAY better, combat is decent, parkour is decent and a bit challenging from times, all of the missions are fun especially the black box missions, I love London this game And this is the only AC game that you can play as a dual assassin. Sure some AC games are better, that I can agree with. But for some reason AC syndicate is my favourite AC game. (And Yes you should move syndicate to S or make an A+ teir since it's your top 5 fav AC game lol)

Not to be a dick, but aside from glitches, the story, the overcrowded map, being shot without warning and the cherry bomb weirdly enough being a line of sight tool (only working when the guards you wanna lure away can see the cherry bomb going off), everything else basically comes down to it being a skill or approach issue. If you get better at those things or approach them differently, your opinion might change. Other than that, great in depth video. Earned a sub

Thanks for the support! And I will admit, I am not the most skilled player. After upgrading my weapons to allow for ever-so-slightly better parry windows and realizing I should be cheesing enemies more than usual, I did enjoy the game more. The Dead Kings DLC was genuinely enjoyable. I had money, high-level gear, level 3 lockpicking and most other skills, etc. Once you unlock everything the game is more fun to play. The problem I had was not enjoying the game until I unlocked enough stuff. It felt like the fun was locked behind later progression. Combine that with my mid-tier gameplay skills and the mostly unimaginative main mission design and it just wasn't for me. I'm glad you enjoyed it though! I plan to eventually go back and do more side quests and endgame stuff. So maybe in the next tier list (w/ Shadows, Chronicles, etc. added) I'll have some different thoughts on the game. You might be the only person I've seen give praise to AC3. On release that game had a lot of problems, mainly bugs, and while Connor may play well, the storyline got real frustrating at times due to how he felt like a whiny teenager most of the time.

I think part of it is context as well. For example, I was probably a whiny teenager myself when AC3 released, so *most of* Connor's behavior never bothered me. My biggest problem with the story isn't Connor, it's that he's shoehorned into a bunch of historic moments that don't feel particularly personal. The sequences he has with Haytham are the best parts of the game. I only recall one big bug on my PS3, which was that no matter what it wouldn't let me complete the last fort on the frontier, so I couldn't get the trophy. Regardless, I'm always happy to praise AC3. I've seen a lot of hate for it over the years, but it's never soured my thoughts on it. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts!

Not gonna lie. I would love if you included Assassin's creed Chronicles and Nexus, because I so heavily enjoyed Nexus. It was the game that for me felt the most like Assassin's creed game in a long time. It has a few problems. Mainly about replayability, because many missions, are quite linear. But even if you didn't wanted to play it again, you will get about 14 hours long AC game. Which i would say is a lot for a VR game. Now to the rankings. Sure I am disappointed with some rankings. Well most of them, but I am at least glad you put AC Rogue and 3 so high. Usually they are sadly underappreciated. (My favourite game is Brotherhood, though)

Yes its always 100% subjective like every Tier List vid on youtube. First of all is nostalgia! If you haven‘t played the games 2007-2015 you probably have a way different view of the older games. The formula has changed, graphics of course but also the sh** mtx store. Second is even more important; do you like the setting and protagonist(s) of an AC or not. In my case I platinumed every AC and love Syndicate the most. Because I love victorian london, the frye twins, the humour, the sound, the atmosphere and the grappling hook. 2nd and 3rd are Black Flag and Origins/Odyssey (they are kinda similar). At the end are Valhalla and AC3, I hate em both. 😮 AC1 from todays standards is by far the worst! AC2 on the other hand is still a good game!

Assassin’s Creed II, III, & Black Flag are all perfect 10/10 games in my opinion. II is the greatest game of all time, perfectly constructed, no fat. Gripping narrative. III: How often does your favorite game of all time, get a sequel where it’s set in one of your favorite time periods to learn about, and the main character shares your name? I am VERY personally attached to this game, but if I HAVE to rank them, III has more slow sections than II or Black Flag. IV: Arguably the most unique game I’ve ever played. The pirate aspect of this game gives it an almost unfair advantage on the rest of the games in the series.

@Kanaju Oh don't take it the wrong way. Everyone enjoys games differently. For me I didn't enjoy 3 as much as everyone else. It was too long and tedious IMHO. Black Flag was a big deal for me because I was at Basic Training when it released and was the first game I played when I eventually had some freedom at my first base. It's a an odd series to jump into since almost every game is completely different: different characters, time periods, locations, game mechanics, etc. If you like big open-world games I recommend starting with AC Origins, AC Syndicate, or Black Flag. If you like more linear games I'd start with AC1, AC2, or Mirage. Of course, Odyssey is my favorite open world, but it's also the least Assassin's-Creed-y game in the series. lol Thanks for watching!

Noped out of this as soon as AC2 was S tier. Most overrated AC game ever. Started off well but the second half of the game is a boring directionless grind and one of the worst endings to a game I have ever experienced. And Carnavale which the whole trailer was based off was the worst sequence I have ever played (ok except for maybe the Battle of Forli or Bonfire of the vanities which are all AC2 sequences). Any fanboy that thinks this is peak AC must have been 12 when it was released.

Well, a few seconds after I put it in S tier I do specifically say that I don't consider it the peak of the series like some others do. I just think it's a great sequel with a great setting, great characters, and great combat. I agree though, that most of the extracurricular gameplay is pretty bad. Spoilers for the next part of the video, but I rank AC3 higher. 🤷‍♂️ Out of curiosity, which game do you consider the best in the series?

@@Kanaju admittedly I didn’t watch further after AC2. The first 5-6 sequences were great and it completely dropped the ball after that and never understood why it was always praised so highly or held up for more than a decade as the pinnacle of the series. As for the best, without question it is Black Flag. It gripped me from start to finish and never let up, even all the side content and ship battles, the mid game grind has never been better or more enjoyable. The character of Edward was brilliantly constructed with the story and character arc being absolutely perfect. I have never been so personally and emotionally invested in a main character before and all the side characters were done perfectly. And it has the most emotionally satisfying ending I have ever experienced. It transcended AC, as not only is it the best game in the series but a top 5 game of all time for me on its own. Greatest cast of characters in any game with Edward, Adewale, Bonnett, Thatch, Vane, Kidd/Read, Anne Bonney, Rackham, the mad man Roberts. Only thing I wish was improved was Freedom Cry which should have been much longer and should have been the spin off game instead of Rogue as Adewale is 100x greater than Shay.

I can understand your criticisms of AC2. I'll admit that nostalgia and the context of each title's release era does play into the ranking. If I could only keep one AC game for the rest of time on my PlayStation, it wouldn't be AC2. Black Flag is a great game. It's probably a good thing you didn't keep watching, as I rank it lower than 2 and 3. That said, I do love the game. I also enjoyed Freedom Cry and I agree that the biggest knock against it is that it wasn't longer. That said, I think Rogue is great spinoff, even above Freedom Cry. No, Odyssey has a much more complex and meaningful gear system than origins. You can deal up to 2 billion damage in Odyssey if you make the correct build

Those are all great games. I agree that Odyssey is worse than Origins in a lot of metrics. I think the graphics are slightly rougher, the combat's rougher, the parkour is rougher, and the loot game is overwhelming. However, I love the world, the story, the characters, and honestly a lot of mechanics are deeper. We have naval exploration and combat again. We have factions and territorial politics you can sway to your will. Mercenaries are more unique. You can kill the people putting bounties on your head. Tracking cult members is a more engaging. I think it's more a matter of personal taste as both games are excellent in my opinion. Origins is the ultimate ancient Egyptian adventure and Odyssey is the ultimate ancient Greek adventure. You ranked Liberation above Unity? - Unity, whose story was of the French Revolution, the historical event that inspired the American revolution - so much so that France sent the USA the Statue of Liberty as an expression of brotherhood? Bah. As for Unity's map - it looked like you seriously didn't know how to use filters on an AC map. You had that map set (on its top left) to show 'All' icons, then complained about not finding your mission marker. NO-ONE uses the map in AC with 'All' turned on - it'll always be too busy if you do that. Oh, and if you didn't have Le Mis in your head, and the 'Do You Hear the People Sing' AC3 trailer ringing in your ears as you play Unity, you really didn't experience the game as I did. Aaaannd it came across (in many of the AC games, but especially the Ezio ones and Unity) as if you don't really like melee combat much. Even when available, I never preferred guns or rifles in AC when melee or blade were options. That footage of you picking off baddies with a rifle in Paris as an Ubisoft Assassin... who even does that? Is it perhaps because, as an American, you grew up with guns and will go for one if available? As an Aussie that feels... unnatural. I play AC games to do melee combat, not shoot at things. That's what Sniper Elite is for... Meh. I'm getting ranty. Out.

Yes, I enjoyed Liberation's combat, mission variety, persona system, and length more. Therefore I rated it higher. Unity's story takes place adjacent to the French Revolution, it is not the story of the Revolution. I know how to use map filters, I've simply never needed to in any of the other AC games because the main objective is on top. The fact that filters are necessary proves my point that the map is not well designed. I love the Le Mis soundtrack, but again, it's a story about Arno and Elise, not the French Revolution. I LOVE melee combat in Assassin's Creed. That's half of why I play Assassin's Creed. The other half being stealth. I don't think anyone plays for its gunplay... That's why I include footage of melee combat for every game in this video... The game provided me a rifle to use as a primary weapon so I used it. I didn't invent it. Asking "Who even does that?" regarding shooting guards when players have access to guns in AC2, AC3, AC4, Liberation, Freedom Cry, Rogue, Unity, and Syndicate is silly. And I fail to see how my nationality plays into this. I'm sure plenty of Americans used swords or spears or something else in Unity. Heck, you get a revolver in Syndicate and I barely use that. I normally don't get too defensive about other people's opinions, since I understand we each enjoy different things and thus play differently. However, your comment is full of assumptions and implications that just feel mean-spirited. Ask yourself, "Would Kanaju have enjoyed Unity more if he used a sword more often? Would he have enjoyed the mission structure, the story, the melee combat, the stealth, the grind, the parkour, or any other element more if he used a spear? Would he have enjoyed it more if he wasn't American?" I don't think so. I love to switch weapons throughout my playthroughs of different games. I'll play a dozen hours of a game with a heavy two-handed axe and then switch to a sword and shield. Heck, I must have played half a dozen hours of Valhalla with two great shields equipped at once. I'll go a bit just using my hidden blades or I'll focus on using unarmed techniques to disarm enemies and use their weapons against them. The section in my video about Unity's rifles is about the game's stealth failing to account for them. The fact that you would attach to that critique and then bring my nationality into it is odd. I was very clear about my American bias towards AC3, but if anything I have a stronger bias towards games with big cities. 🤷‍♂️ The games I go back to the most are Odyssey, Origins, and Valhalla. None of those are gun games... No bad blood. I just had to get that off my chest as I'm sure you had to too. It's clear we're both very passionate about our Assassin's Creed! Thanks for watching! P.S. Glad to hear you enjoyed the ship combat in AC3. I agree, it's quite excellent. While I love the customization and expanded arsenal in Black Flag and Rogue, there is something nice about the simplicity of ship combat in AC3. It also has a more cinematic feel to it, since those missions aren't open-world.
