We did get the Japan-only Mickey & Donald game on GBA here in the west, where it was called "Disney's Magical Quest 3 Starring Mickey & Donald", when Capcom was porting SNES games to the GBA in the early 2000's. Same goes for Mega Man & Bass, as it also was a Japan-only SNES game that got a GBA port in the west, though it is very difficult to play due to lack of screen, so you have to deal with a ton of off-screen enemies. Also, Fun Fact: Mega Man & Bass on the SNES, or as it is known in Japan as RockMan & Forte on the Super Famicom, was released in 1998, two years after Mega Man 8 on PS1, and also takes place after 8. EDIT: I did notice you forgot two Capcom published games, by the way, being Super Buster Bros and Wizardry V: Heart of the Maelstrom.

It’s funny, usually when I watch ‘video-game related content’ on YT, I tend to go for things that are more like in-depth analysis, breaking things down, pros and cons, story (where applicable) and so forth. Not sure if it’s just bc you were covering so many games, but I really dug the laid-back, ‘quickly tell you everything important you need to know/rank/move on’ style of this, sets you apart a bit. Keep it up!

Capcom’s Aladdin has such a great flow to it. It’s smooth and rhythmic, and you can really get into a groove when you play. Not only is it a surprisingly unique take on the platforming genre, but it’s… FUN to play. The genesis game, as much as I really want to like it, just feels so much slower and methodical. It’s very stop and go and just feels like a chore to get through. Beautiful as it is, I just don’t find it very enjoyable. The only argument I ever hear in its favor is that “IT HAS A SWORD!”, which sounds like a parody of a real argument in terms of gameplay. That said I do want to like the genesis Aladdin (I did spend money on it), any pointers would be appreciated.
@brianhatcher27998 ай бұрын
I can’t give you any pointers, but I can say that I totally relate to what you’re saying. I think the Sega version is much harder, and I still have only got a few levels into it. Everything you just said is spot-on.

Most movie-based games in the 90's were mediocre, at best, and have aged like milk. SNES Aladdin is among the few gems in this category. The visuals, the music, smooth controls. I think the challenge is just right, too. Not too hard, although casual gamers may run into some obstacles in the later levels... but if it were too easy no one would play it... lol

You should have finished Breath of Fire II, becaue unlike all the other Breath of Fire games in the series, it was absolutely worth it, one of the best Final Boss Fights and endings in an JRPG ever. And honestely its the best game in the series. You downrated a very good game and timless classic. Its the hardest, too, but all RPG games are easy by default, so it does not matter. You can prepare everything for turn based combat by just bringing plenty of heals and potions. Its not Battletoads.
