It seems like most people forget a very important aspect about Shifter: it turns off many strong hand traps your opponent might be holding like Veiler, Droll and Ogre. So you are making your deck a lot more hand trap proof going first. This and the fact that it kills the link climbing part of Maliss as well as most other meta decks except Ryzeal still justifies main decking Shifter, if your deck allows it, in my eyes.

Nib this format is only as good as your opponent’s skill. If they are bad nibiru feels like the best card ever but even Maliss doesn’t really lose to nib even if you let them get to terahertz
