These lists are always fun to make, even tho they are subjective! If you could only choose only 3 cities for your best & worst list, what would they be? For me, the BEST are: - Prague 🇨🇿 - Bangkok 🇹🇭 - Seoul 🇰🇷 And the WORST: - Conakry 🇬🇳 - N’Djamena 🇹🇩 - Delhi 🇮🇳

17:26 I need to point out a mistake you made. Xiaolongbao is a traditional Chinese food that has existed for a thousand years. It was invented in the Northern Song Dynasty (11th century AD) and spread in the Wu region (representative cities are Shanghai and Nanjing) for 10 centuries. You say that Din Tai Fung invented it, just like saying McDonald's invented the hamburger. This is ridiculous. Din Tai Fung brought it to other countries, which does not mean they invented it. Edit: Hangzhou's Xiaolongbao is the most delicious. I mentioned Shanghai and Nanjing as examples above, but Hangzhou's Xiaolongbao is the most delicious. If you come to China specifically to eat the best Xiaolongbao, I suggest you go to Hangzhou.

Durian are primarily planted in Malaysia and Thailand, these are the main sources 😄 The Thai durians taste very different to the Malay Durians but it's a huge thing there as well. 2) You said Din Tai Fung invented Xiao Long Bao. Sorry, but that's not true....Xiao Long Bao have been invented in Shanghai, whereas most of the other Dim Sum come from the Guangdong Region/Hong Kong. So yes, DTF is a taiwanese chain but most of their staple dishes are very traditional shanghainese and cantonese meals.

As someone who visited only 37 countries (but will be 40 until the end of the year) I have so much less to compare, but I can easily make a list of my favourite and least favourite cities that I’ve visited during my travels. I will also add some short explenations why I feel like that about the cities: Favourite: 1. Shiraz - the most „persian” of all Iranian cities, the atmosphere is really something between the legends of Achaemenian and Sasnian Empire and Rumi’s and Hafez’s poems about love of God and drinking wine to get closer to him and absolutely stunning architecture with amazing mosques, gardens and palaces. Absolutely outstanding city. 2. Isfahan - If there is a place which could be a heaven for architecture fans that must be Isfahan. Naqsh-e Jahan is the greatest achievement of human kind in this field, and it doesn’t ends here, Friday mosque (Masjed-e Jameh) is also amazing, the same with stone bridges of Khajoo and Si-o-se Pol, Armenian churches, Abbasi Hotel in XV-century caravanserai, Chehel Sotoon Palace and many more just fantastic sites. 3. Bukhara - It was very similar to Shiraz for me, it has the same spirit of whirling dervishes, mystical poetry and lots of amazing architecture. And most of the historical sites are in one area of old town which makes it perfect for walking. Beautiful Place. 4. Samarkand - Something similar to Isfahan, the architecture of which is very similar, especially in case of Registan Square which is the closest thing to Naqsh-e Jahan, also Amir Temur’s Mausoleum is an amazing masterpiece, also like Shah-I-Zinda which is one of the most amazing places I’ve seen in my entire life. 5. Baku - It was really tough to decide wether it should be Baku or Samarkand on the 4th place, but the architectural richness won. Baku is amazing because it’s old town has an immeasurable charm with beautiful buildings and wooden balconies with Shirvanshahs Palace in the middle of it all, on the other hand it’s a modern and well maintained city with great areas to spend free time (alongside Nizami street) and significant modern architecture like Heydar Aliyev Centre or Flame Towers 6. Tehran - yes, 3rd Iranian city on the list, but Tehran is absolutely great. It’s extremely big (16 million people) and unfortunately the air is often very polluted, but it still has some amazing places to see like Golestan Palace, Imamzadeh Saleh Mosque, Grand Bazaar, Iran Mall (I usually hate malls, but this particular one is interesting) and Darband which is amazing area in the north of the city where is mountain trail with some traditional teashops and restaurants around where you can sit on the carpet lying literally just above surface of passing river, smoke shisha and drink tea - it’s just heaven. 7. Constantine - One of the most picturesque cities I’ve been to, especially because of the canyon that cuts it through and beautiful hanging bridges. Also the mosque and souk are great places to visit. Best city of Algeria for sure. 8. Seville - the real gem of Europe and Andalusia. Of course Alhambra is in Granada, but Seville as a whole city is just the best in Spain. The old town, narrow streets, mudejar style architecture and places like Royal Alcazar, Palacio de las Dueñas, Plaza de España or Cathedral with La Giralda are amazing. I’ve been there twice and always want to go back yet another time. 9. Split - this tiny gem in Dalmatia is absolutely stunning. I had tough time deciding whether I should place here Split or Trogir, but Split just has more to offer. The old town is amazing and walking there in the evening is beautiful experience. There is also so much history in that city, even from times of Ancient Rome. Just an amazing place. 10. Khiva - The old town surrounded by walls called Itchan Kala is amazingly beautiful. The city that could also find it’s place here is Iranian Kashan, but Khiva is a little bit more diverse architecturally, especially with beautiful minarets like Islam Khodja Minaret and Kalta Minor. The one really annoying thing about Khiva is that it easily gets very crowded with tourists, but still a beautiful place to visit. And now the worst ones: 1. Port Moresby - as mentioned in the film. Very stressful and dangerous place. PNG is amazing, but Port Moresby isn’t a place to go. 2. Manaus - similar to Port Moresby, especially lack of street lights at night can be intimidating 3. Manila - just big city that can’t offer anything impressive or interesting 4. Zagreb - exactly like Manila, but it’s way smaller, thus a little bit better 5. Stockholm - it’s just boring. I’ve had much better time in Visby on Gotland island than in this place - though old town has it’s charm and is good for walk. But not much more to say about. 6. Vilnius - if someone is enthusiast of baroque art then probably will find much more entertainment in this city than I did. I just really don’t like this style and unfortunately it’s most common one there. 7. London - on the one hand beautiful historical areas with lots of charm, on the other… Just intimidating big city where everybody is constantly in hurry. Not a good place for me. Also became much more dangerous in recent years. 8. New York - Like London, but has much less history and is even more intimidating. 9. Mt. Hagen - just a smaller version of Port Moresby. 10. Dubai - unwalkable, artificial in every aspect without any own culture. It’s just painful that so much money was used to create something like this when they could’ve really build enjoyable city which would represent the colorful and charming climate of Middle East like in Thousand Nights, but well… They chose glass.

I greatly agree with your list. I also envy Drew Binsky for having visited all the countries in the world and while I understand the list of "worst" (I'd never put my foot there), I've got impression he doesn't properly value the history and cultural vibe of the cities he selected as "best" to visit. Probably, it is because he's an American, they don't have that deep connection with the concept of "history", as we, Europeans have. Otherwise, he wouldn't place Rome, one of the most important historical place in the world, no doubt, among the "top 20" before Naples, because, although Rome is certainly a destination to visit, its traffic can be compared to SEA traffic (actually, Naples is not far from that standard), it is tourist-unfriendly (if you want to go to the toilet, you better use the one in a restaurant to eat pasta cacio e pepe which is not such a great dish, there are hundreds Italian dishes better, or in McDonalds), its suburbs are horrible. Yes, you have endless things to see in Rome, I've spent a week just to visit Musei vaticani (more or less time to properly visit Louvre, or British Museum + National Gallery). Among all the beautiful cities in Italy, and there are hundreds if not thousands, Rome seems to me as a... too obvious choice. Istanbul-Constantinople is just an another example of such an obvious choice. He said he returned to it many times, so he could have witnessed how much this city have enlarged and how much the urbanistic construction choices endangered that Euro-Asian connection it offered throughout its history. And exactly as how he has chosen Rome in Italy, there are many other, less trafficked, cities in Turkey, that would deserve to be in a list of such an experienced traveller. Prague is certainly a city that deserves to be put among the "20 best", but I fear it was an obvious choice, too. I personally loved Prague, but I think "that vibe" would interest Wien as well, I'd never choose one without choosing another. Before Amsterdam (a nice place, no doubt, but I am not that fond of cycling and as for canals, Venice is better to explore), I'd choose Aachen. Like you, I'd place some of Central Asian cities among the first, and that city would probably be Samarkand, unfortunately, I I've never been in Iran. Xi'an in China is also a great place, although they make (all, foreign or Chinese) tourists pay for almost everything, it also reminds me of Rome. And I've never been in Alger, but I think some North African cities truly deserve to be in top 20. I'll name one: Casablanca, or, alterantively, some Spanish cities, like Cordova, conveying that great Maor vibe to the visitor. I also agree with you that "the small gem" Split. (or better, Trogir, which is a small but less trafficked Dubrovnik) is a good choice to visit, certainly better than annoying Zagreb and... smilarly annoying Belgrade. Kalemegdan (the fortress presiding over two rivers flow) in Belgrade is great, but that's all you can really find exciting in Belgrade). The hyperproteic food... I remember "Karadjordjeva snicla" (rolled beef meat, cheese and ham in crumbled bread fried as Wiener schintzel) or a beef stake with cheese and egg upon it... it's fine when you are young and American, but when you reach your forties, you'll simply get a heart attack and you'll die. Probably, that's the reason why Americans live shorter than the Europeans

@ Thank you for so long and thourough answer, I like this kind of discussion. Just 3 days ago I returned from my 4-day trip to Cairo and I’m sure I would add it to my list as one of the best cities. Probably next to Baku/Tehran. The historical and cultural richness of this place is amazing. The beautiful mosques, Khan Al-Khalili bazaar and many more amazing places make it really outstanding. However it’s absolutely chaotic, loud and intensive. Leaving there would be unbearable for me. But for this 4 days it’s really amazing.

I avoid Mexico's resort towns like the plague when I travel through Mexico. Some of its best cities and towns are the ones least visited by tourists from outside the country. If you are going to visit Mexico for the standard resort cities you are not really visiting Mexico it seems. From little towns like Batopilas or Urique in the north down to a city like Comitan, there is so much more to experience than a resort. Too many to list. The best take some driving (or even better, riding a moto) like Taxco or Real de Catorce but they are so worth it. Mexico is as diverse in culture, topography, food, weather, etc. as any of the greatest countries.

I'll list my top 5 most and least favourite cities for ya drew and explain why (not in any particular order except the number one spots on both lists) Favorites: 1. Amsterdam, Netherlands Amsterdam, to me, is hands down the most beautiful city I've ever been to, and I've been a lot of times It's so nice to go on a peaceful cycle along the canals or chill out and smoke a joint in a coffee shop or potter around the markets, which have some seriously good food I also can't wait to go back to the Netherlands next year and finally visit other cities 2. Lisbon, Portugal Fantastic city, its easy and pleasant to get around, the architecture of pretty much every stree is stunning, there's lots of beautiful places to walk, the weather is almost always gorgeous and the food is unreal 3. Almere, Netherlands Now i know a lot of people will be confused on this one, and i dont care Almere is a beautiful little city near Amsterdam, and its main selling point is just how chill it is. It's the ultimate city for relaxing and just having a chill time, theres plenty of nice places to eat, and everything is designed to make life easy and simple, plus you're just a half hour train ride away from Amsterdam 4. Waterford, Ireland Waterford is like if you took an irish city and made its streets not car infested and unpleasant to be in, the city centre is bustling with activity and full of little family pubs and restaurants and has a fantastic riverview and walk, plus if you like cycling like me, you'll love the Waterford Greenway, which is a cycling trail that leads along county Waterford and has some stunning views along it and is a great place to chill and take in scenery as you pedal along 5. Cusco/Puno, Peru Cusco and Puno are tied and also very similar to each other, so im ranking them the same since i visited them at the same time Both of these cities are very, very rich in history and culture, they have cool historical buildings everywhere and the food is honestly some of the best I've ever eaten, i wasnt a fan of the altitude sickness for the first while since they are both up in the mountains but once i got used to it, they were a blast Least Favourites: 1. New York I have no idea what the obsession with visiting New York is. It is an absolute kip of a city. The streets are filthy, rat infested, and covered in trash I found a lot of the people to be a mix of friendly and rude, and honestly, i don't get the hype for New york style pizza. it's good, but it's not nearly as good as Italian pizza And dont get me started on the desolate hellhole that is the subway I will stick my head in a cows rectum before i ever step foot in the NYC subway... I'll probably get fewer diseases, and it's not even half as reliable as people make it out to be 2. Granada, Spain Granada is just... awful... There's literally nothing going on there. there's almost no upkeep around the city. In fact, when i was there, there was a massive issue with locals stealing sewer grates to sell them and there was literally just holes leading into the sewer that if you weren't paying attention in certain areas youd just fall into the sewers, the food was god awful, it was unpleasant to walk around due to being unshaded from the intense heat, and being full of huge busy roads that were a pain to cross and lastly the accommodations were absolutely atrocious and had cockroaches and dirt everywhere 3. Cork, Ireland Cork, to me, is just completely overrated The city centre is... fine, i guess, but it is horrible to walk around due to being full of car traffic thoroughfares with dangerous intersections, and once you leave the city centre, you start to realise just how much of a soulless and grey wasteland that Cork really is, theres nothing to do outside the city centre and you literally can't get anywhere without a car unless you're willing to wait around for hours for a clunky old bus, or walk along 8 lane stroads with either a narrow or no footpath The food is good, though 4. Dublin, Ireland I won't go into as much detail as Dublin is here for most of the same reasons as Cork, but there are a few differences Firstly, Dublin gets a plus for actually being a reasonably accessible city without a car, but its still not great and definitely still too car centric in a lot of areas, but there are a lot more pedestrianised streets that are better But it loses a point for being a dirty, crime riddled kip. There's a lot of homelessness in Dublin, a lot of drug addicts on the streets, antisocial behaviour, etc, and a lot of the city centre stinks of piss 5. Playa Blanca, Spain I definitely won't be returning here again I've never seen a more soulless and dull place in my life. The entire town just consisted of tacky touristy BS. Everything was extremely far spead and car centric, which is ironic for a town literally built for people who wouldn't have access to cars (tourists). The heat was unbearable due to a lack of any shade at all. The town was crap as all the shops were the same tacky gift shops and a few restaurants here and there, some of which were pretty good, but many were underwhelming, and the town overall felt completely monetary and corporate, like it only existed for the soul purpose of filling greedy pockets and absolutely no character was put into it Now, obviously, those worst ones aren't as bad as drews worst, simply cause i haven't been to as many countries and no war-torn countries I also wanna give an honourable mention to my home city, Limerick, Ireland I didn't wanna put it on the list cause i hate bias But i do like it here a lot, and i feel it's very overlooked by tourists because of propaganda from Dublin, where people call it "Stab City," even though Dublin has a higher rate of knife crime But in reality, it's a lively little city, with friendly and welcoming locals, it's very walkable and cycleable. The three bridges' walks are a must try for anyone who visits. there's a lot of nice historical places to visit and a pretty traditional nightlife. There are typical nightclubs, but the small local 3rd place pub is where the real fun is at So yeah... thats my list

Love your vids so much but Vancouver has had a horrific homelessness problem and opioid epidemic for A WHILE, when were you last there? Also the drinking age here is 19 😅 So either you mixed up alberta (drinking age 18) with BC, or you were served it illegally hahaha

Pre-Trudeau Vancouver was great. Now not so much

Idk, at first glance its easy to blame the prime minister but there's a ton of factors that affected these issues outside of him. (No I'm not a fan of him, these problems are just nuanced af)

Totally agree, they are more homeless today than ever before and I went there 3 months ago. Don't know how long ago he was there.
@TProphet27 күн бұрын
Compared to US cities (like your neighbors Seattle and Portland), the homeless problem in Vancouver barely registers.
@er419927 күн бұрын
@@TProphet🤦🏼♀️ even if that is true, it's not a competition. There is no point in comparing it to other cities, either way it's a big issue and quite frankly sad to see *anywhere*

the only reason Kuwait city is on the list is because you went in the hottest area in the hottest time of the year.

He added Kuwait and Manama to balance out the muslim countries just because of "hot temperature" and "bore". Otherwise people will think he's on side with muslim company

Not a fan of big cities in general but i have to agree CHI-town is the best I've been to in the US. In the northeast, Philly! Folks there helped me out alot when i was hitchhiking the east coast so many years ago. North of there it got worse and worse.

I really dislike the fact that especially at the end it's half eating and "thank you thank you" cause people brought you more food and half talking about your experiences. To me, it feels like this isn't even important enough to not do something else on the side.
