Sent in my flawless Gengar Vmax to PSA expecting an easy 10. Came back a 9 with corners absolutely fucked. Haven't sent anything in to be graded again since. I just don't trust the people that are handling the cards, because there's no accountability.

your Zard going from a 9 to a 10 is totally possible because the grading is done by a human. And more then likely a different human each time it was graded! It was probably on the border of a 9-10 and the person that graded it decided to throw you a bone this time and give your zard a 10! Maybe he/she got laid the day before? Who knows? Just don't over think it! Take the WIN!

grading has always been a scam and most likely will stay that way for a long time, but its good to see that PSA has become more consistant waith their grades, in the past a regrade could put in anywhere on the spectrum, now it stays a bit closer to each other. also, to see what is wrong with the Gengar Vmax you could send it to TAG grading and see what their 1000 point scales says about it 👀

Hidden fates is one of the only sets where I’ve see the grades go up. Usually it is exactly what you just said. Centering is super close. But everything else is flawless. I feel like that depends on grader a little.

Centering is keeping that Gengar a 9

It's the centering, that charizard should have remained a 9. Gengar centering is off as well. People fail to realize a fingerprint can knock your grading down 1-2 grades just off that because it counts as "surface dmg"

This is why i think Tag is really cool, they give you a breakdown of why exactly the card gets the grade it does. And you don't have to worry about if the grader is having a "bad day" or anything lol it gets rid of the human error. Plus the slabs are beautiful and starting to have more value than other grading companies!

I'm using TAG to grade mine. Love it and the turnaround time is great and always returned on time. no hidden and extra charges depending on how valuable the card is. Plus they keep you up to date on the process. Plus the slabs are clean and unique. For me, I think they will eventually surpass PSA in a few years if they keep their processes and transparency

I use TAG for my personal collection too. Miles better than PSA. Unfortunately for cards I plan on selling I still have to go with them over TAG, as TAG slabs worth pretty much nothing for most buyers. I just hope that as time goes on people will recognise TAG too. PSA is a joke.

Your shiny charizard shouldn't be a 10. You can tell with a naked eye it's offset. There's plenty of cards from Sun and Moon that share this problem.

Human error. Every card at psa is graded by a human, and as humans, we have shit to deal with in life that can make our judgment off in situations. If the gradder had a fight with his wife or got a parking ticket, it may make them not want to work and not care that day. I do not like ags as a company, but I love the technology they use. It takes the human element out of grading mostly. Qnd I hqve even seen a ags pristine 10 get cracked and sent to beckett and come back a black label. Like I 6 a fan of the company, just the tech. Whish more company take the human element out of gradding

I just get mine graded at my local card shops own service. Takes 10 min for a card, gets its slab, and its only 7 dollars. The slab itself is worth it
