I collected the original cards (English and Japanese) in the late 90s and only recently got back in to it because of my nephew with Crown Zenith. It's funny to me how cards I got from the local game store for $3 a pack make him freak out. I would have never gotten back in to collecting if he hadn't asked about my old cards I just had sitting in binders and cases in a rubbermaid in my storage. He gets excited about my old cards because of their value, I get excited about all the full arts he has from sets prior to me starting collecting again because we just didn't have those back then. I see the newer cards as works of art whereas the old ones just all kinda had the same general look. I'm happy that I have a lot of the very valuable ones though, and that I took care of them as a kid. When he saw my entire page of top-loader stored shadowless Charizards he damn near crapped himself.

Don't feel bad, even if it was a 1st edition, the fact that you had them as a child and played with them means they aren't worth more than, in the most extreme cases, a few hundred. Collectors want pristine never-touched-by-a-child condition. What makes me scratch my head is that I have literally 300 common cards and not a single holo, I can't remember if I traded them away, lost them, had them stolen, or what. But they are nowhere to find, and with that amount of common cards, I should have something decent lying around, but no, I don't find it...

My 10 year old daughter is so into Pokémon now and out of all the KZbin channels she watches, this is by far my favorite. I’m 43 and never got into Pokémon as a kid but I love playing the game with my daughter and buying my own booster packs. She just turned 10 and got a TON of Pokémon cards. She gets so excited along with you my dude. We just had baby number 3 and I have been spending a lot of time at home and have probably watched more of you than anything else and I’m totally ok with that when I see how happy she is watching your videos. I bet you most parents regret they did not buy these cards and stored them. Not every kid had wealthy parents to buy them all the cards they wanted. I remember I envied that kid who got everything he wanted and the other kid who had cool parents, thought not rich, who treated their kids well with buying him pokemon cards. If I had been 18 years or older with a job, I probably would have bought pokemon card boxes and stored them. Unfortunately, today we do not have anything memorable that will become collectibles in the future anymore because everything is just recycled from the past in pop culture.

Most memorable set for me probably has to be eevee heroes. My favorite sets are the ones I had the most fun opening. Eevee heroes, celebrations, evolutions and hidden fates all had that chase for me and good hit rates that made opening the sets a blast.

My favorite set is actually evolutions... When I was a kid my mother wouldn't buy pokemon cards for me so, as soon as I was able to buy them myself, I fell in love with evolutions set because it reminded me a lot of those old vintage cards I couldn't buy (basically a reprint of base set as you said lol). Mom if you're reading this you lost 1000s of dollars not investing in your kid's dream LOL. (Love your vids a lot, you're keeping my passion alive brother).

honestly good job on making it so far so quickly, you became a pretty prominent pokemon youtuber and you only started at sword and shield, most youtubers have been going at it for years and years and only just now reached 1 mil. Congrats are hitting it, so impressive you've made it so far in such a short amount of time. I only recently got into pokemon again but as soon as i did you were on my recommeneded. Can't wait to see what the future brings. oh right my favorite pokemon packs ever, i really like XY evolutions, I have the earliest memories of it and it was a big staple of my childhood. I’d say my favorite set would definitely be evolving skies. I like how eevee and its evolutions are a main focus and I love the secret rares of that set. XY Evolutions set is definitely a close second.
