are you studying by yourself? if so, do you have any tips on how to start? I'm 22 and eager to learn it as soon as possible, I feel like I've dismissed this desire to learn French for too long
@dsalazar8152
@dsalazar8152 3 жыл бұрын
@@bellamorts Yes, I am learning by myself. I'm not rich 😆 so I can't subscribe to paid lessons. But if you have the means, go and invest in yourself 😉. I started with a free language learning app (the one that's green with an owl logo). It may not be as formal and comprehensive but it helped me, and still continues to, build my vocabulary. I also watch French shows and movies as much as I can. Even though you'd use English subtitles, it'll still help with pronunciation and you can observe how the French talk in general & their expressions & slang etc. There are a number of blogs and of course YT channels that offer tutorials that are also helpful (I really like Elsa because she doesn't speak too fast and really enunciates her words) During free time, I'd write short anecdotes or just random sentences in French as a way to assess myself. I'll then go to Google Translate or Reverso to check my work. I also started following French accounts on social media and I'd try to understand their posts and that's like giving myself a quiz haha. I guess what's important is that you don't pressure yourself too much (unless speaking French is a matter of life & death for you jk 😆). It's a very challenging language so don't worry if you think you're progressing too slowly. If you do that, you'll easily burnout and just probably quit all together. Just keep at it and hey, you're young!!! Your brain is more flexible so am sure you'll do great 😉 Bonne chance !

@kyurei4478 3 жыл бұрын
Non il faut bien dire "connaître" dans cette situation c'était juste. Car il parle du "c'était il y a longtemps" qu'il ne connaissait pas. Connaître ne s'utilise pas seulement pour les personnes mais pour toute chose dont on ne connait pas l'existence/pour les choses inconnues. Savoir s'utilise pour des faits, des connaissances approfondies, des compétences acquises, des choses connues mais maitrisées. On peut connaître les vélos mais ne pas savoir en faire. Difficile en effet.

This brings back memories of when I took French in high school and then a few years later in a culinary class I took. At first I thought it would be very difficult to learn but to my surprise it came very naturally to me, maybe because I liked the way I sounded speaking in French, I certainly made more sense in French than I did speaking in my own native tongue, where no one can understand me. I still remember some words here and there, not enough to hold a conversation but it's there.
