To be fair, the models are very detailed, so no matter your skill level if you take your time it will already look decent (I am REALLY bad in all things painting and still my first mini (standard space marine) looked quite decent) No to discredit these great paintjobs, just saying that this might play a role in the "I'm not good" narrative Hopefully I can bring myself to start purchasing colours and some models soon, I'm going for Ad-Mech Xenarites, not going for anything actually Xenos, but I'm intending to mess around with some holographic paint and give the typical Mars red a shift in color.. Plausible deniability and all.

It has a ton of stuff, from acid, diamond hardened acid bullets, which break on impact to reveal acid inside, flesh borers (tiny slugs that will eat you from the inside), brainbugs (on impact they will try to eat thier way to your brain once inside your body), needles and a lot more.

Kurgash here. I painted my Necrons in blue after years of different color schemes, full silver, I found a color that suited my taste *blue is my favorite color* and the paint used was called Necron abyss so it matched perfectly. For my angron, the blue on the wing was a reflection of light on the wing from my tv when I was taking close up photos 😅. I will look to invest in a decent camera for photos as I used my iPhone for them 😂

Lighting is almost always more important than camera. Make sure it's in a very well lit area, ideally with indirect light, turn off flash, and take several pictures. Then go through them and find the one the most in focus. Miniac and TableTop Minions both have excellent resources on taking pictures of your minis.

The power sword, and at least most "power" weapons in general, look all zappy cause of the energy field but they're not actually like "lightning" weapons like that. To my limited understanding its a kind of disruption field, weakens if not outright rips apart molecular bonds, making bladed weapons extra cutty, blunt ones extra smashy. The closest you get to a lightning melee weapon (mechanicus has some zappy "arc" guns) is the thunder hammer, which is still a power weapon, but it only activates the field at the moment of impact. That makes each hit do a real nasty, loud kablammo, something something like a crack of thunder, delivering such insane force that it tends to just outright explode most anything you hit with it.

Krieg guardsmen is the best guardsmen, they live to die for the emperor, send armies of gasmask wearing, shovel swinging psychos and normally have the largest amount of casualties while still winning. If they have a commissar he normally ends up dying because his trying to outdo the Kriegers and if a Krieg officer joins a normal squad to lead them he has a high chance of being killed by his own men. They nuked their own planet which was a paradise world because of traitors before after a long civil war joining the imperium again as the Death korps of Krieg. I wish I had some of those models.

just dropping some Chaos lore. Nurgle gives you apathy and acceptance, but never recovery or true rest that you feel better from. Embracing nurgle means giving up and never getting better again. Khorne gives you endless battle, but never Victory, because to win would mean the fight would end. Embracing Khorne means struggling forever to gain nothing. Slannesh gives you Sensation and endless Passion, but can never satisfy desires, only the thrill of greater extremes as you become numb. Embracing Slannesh means never being happy. Random fact. Because I’m a fucking nerd. Power weapons essentially displace atoms as they travel through the air, things like axes, maces, and swords do it constantly, whereas a thunderhammer and power fist do it all at once on the point that impacts its target. Quite an explosive reaction when that occurs

Noting on the metal models. Yes, at least when I started the hobby back some 15 years ago or so any of the more special models, characters or unique units etc would be made out of metal compared to the regular units and war machines and such which would be plastic, back in the day Forge World were the ones who did the resin minis however there was always the caveat that Forge World models were incredibly expensive. But now the metal models have been retired and replaced with resin ones I believe from the most part, I haven't been as active in the hobby for quite a few years now so can't say for certain

Apparently, When you dye the Leather Armor Pieces, the RGB Values of the Colors get averaged out but as Minecraft has the 8-bit Game Design and Aesthetic to it, you can't got higher than 255 for your Color Value.
