I usually take a month to finish one book this- this is crazy well done
@helengolovina61272 жыл бұрын
That's exactly what I thought. This is crazy tempo: she must have been reading 1.5 books a day. I have read one book a day once in my life. The rest of the time it takes me a week or two to read a book. Or Even longer- depends on the book. I wish i could read faster but i just cannot concentrate well enough

About No exit, I think the dumb decisions make sense. The protagonist was super desperate, most people wouldnt even be able to do ANYTHING.Darby did what she could, even if it wasnt the most rational thing to do😊
@chelsea20593 жыл бұрын
Exactly! When I was reading reviews a ton of people rated it low because of dumb decisions but that’s the point she’s in a dire situation and it’s not like she has experience lol. Someone also said that the fart joke was juvenile and it’s like yeah that’s the point they are a juvenile gross character 😂
@KalEllle3 жыл бұрын
I agree! Plus, everyone is so amped up in the book on emotions and adrenaline that it totally makes sense that there are dumb decisions happening. I like that it wasn’t just the protagonist doing dumb things. The antagonist was just as irrational in their decision making.
@caelkins64782 жыл бұрын
Dumb decisions are only natural for any awkward teenager stranded in the middle of nowhere with a kidnapped child. Darby was an absolute badass she was such a terrific hero and protag even if she did make dumb decisions, the book emphasized how she was flawed, not a perfect character by any means but god damn she did her verrryy fucking best and went through literal hell and back saving a stranger. She was funny, charming, witty and a great adversary to Ashley. Them both constantly trying to 1-up each other was great lmao

@taylortalkstales81064 жыл бұрын
Thank you! It's definitely not something I can do all the time haha. I took a slight reading break after this binge since it was a lot very quickly. Thrillers are pretty compulsively readable to me though which also helped.

@bobbichamberlain7184 жыл бұрын
All but Tenth, Furies, Recursion, Invited, Scared, and Whicked. Pretty Girls would be my fave out of the list. A very dark thriller BUT so good. Oh I didn’t read Recursion even tho I read Dark Matter. It was just okay so didn’t feel the need. Have a great reading week 🤞🏻

Thanks for doing this video! I agree that An Anonymous Girl was not as good as all the hype made it all out to be. I can’t read Karin Slaughter due to the pornographic torture scenes . I definitely want to read some more Lisa Jewell, she’s never disappointed me!
@taylortalkstales81064 жыл бұрын
You're welcome! Thank you for watching it. I'm glad I'm not the only one who didn't think An Anonymous Girl deserved the hype. Yeah, Karin Slaughter's writing is definitely graphic and absolutely not for everyone. I want to read more Lisa Jewell now too. This was my first one and I was very impressed by it.

I found your channel doing a general book review search and saw Recursion in the thumbnail for this one, so gave it a watch. So glad it was in the top slot for your thriller binge. Absolutely loved that book and it’s stuck with me since reading it. Definitely finish Dark Matter and the Pines trilogy when you can. The Pines books got me into Blake Crouch and I haven’t had a disappointing read with him yet! Thanks for the great videos!
@taylortalkstales81064 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the comment! I'm so glad you like Recursion too. I still think about it, and recently purchased my own copy so I can reread it at some point. I have now read the Pines trilogy and loved it as well! Also finished reading Dark Matter just this past month. I really liked it, but not as much as Recursion.

I'm a relatively quick reader but 18 books, 11 days?! Did you get any sleep? Lol. Quite a commitment too. I dont know if I could do anything every day for 11 days straight without some monotony setting in. Not to mention the ability to not confuse one story from another. Lol.

I want to read Recursion. I read Dark Matter by Blake Crouch and it’s one of the better books I have ever read as far as thriller goes. I still think about that one after a couple years of finishing it.

Hello. I don't know if you are still doing the videos, but I see on your bookshelf that you have a book entitled, I think, "The Female of the Species", by Lionel Shriver. If that is right, and if you have done a video on that book, you please tell me in which video you have reviewed that book? Thank you very much. By the way, "No Exit" was really not a good thriller, too many coincidences and incidents of bad and good luck. I agree with you about it.

I agree. Your hands are moving up and down and the author's name is not clearly visible. I was trying to write down titles and authors that I have not read as thrillers and mysteries are my favorites. Stopped the video several times and still could only get parts of the titles and author's names. Hope this is not too critical, but hope your next video will keep the book titles and authors very visible.
