Chandler hating books is just the serotonin I needed today🥳

i agree with you about Jeanette’s book because of the graphic detail it goes into around eating disorders, it needs to be noted more before going into the book to prevent people either falling into or back into that distorted thinking. I feel like every book that has triggering content should have a list of trigger warnings in an authors note before the first chapter

Some people view trigger warnings as spoilers which I wholeheartedly disagree with.
@charliescozycorner2 жыл бұрын
@@SM-fy4ij Yes I’ve seen this and I disagree with it too. People need trigger warnings to prepare themselves or to help them decide if the book is worth triggering them. I wouldn’t say it’s majorly spoiling to the plot to be like Hey this book features graphic sexual assault, Just so you’re aware.” example is random

I agree about trigger/content warnings. I have heard about all of this stuff with jennette for many years now, so I knew this going in and wasn’t thinking about it not having a warning. but I’m someone who has struggled with eating disorder most of my life (and been severely abused by my loved one) and it surprisingly made me think the opposite of wanting to go back into those behaviors. Made me realize how other people might see it and see how wrong and unhealthy It is. I can see it going the other way too like you said. We’re all different and I think trigger/content warnings are so important.

If I had read trigger warnings for abuse before reading it ends with us by Colleen Hoover I never would’ve read it. I had no idea it featured abuse and that was very triggering and upsetting to me. Now I know to go and look up trigger warnings online before reading.

@@nikkis7375 I DNF’ed this one, I don’t really like Coho Ngl. But, I think her books do glorify those relationships and I think that should be noted before reading the books. It’s horrible to read a book without knowing the content inside

Pouring a glass of wine and watching a new Chandler video was exactly what I needed to shake off this terrible day. Thank you for all of your hard work (and impeccable timing)!

I don't even read romance books but I love watching your videos especially when I'm having dinner. It makes my dinner time very entertaining. I also think you have excellent video ideas. You are definitely one of my favourite book tuber 😊

If you’re wanting a better gargoyle romance (even though monster romance isn’t fully your thing) I’d recommend Deceived by the Gargoyles by Lillian Lark. It’s a polyamorous romance that as a poly person I would say was actually good- more of a lighthearted read and relatively fluffy, but it was fun and the smut was pretty good💕

OMG!!!! I have the first and second book of The Kiss of Deception. It has been a long time since I read this book but I remember really enjoying it along with the characters. I am defiantly going to do a re-read having read the book so young. My likes in books have changed throughout the years since then, going to see what my adult brain thinks of the book vs my adolescent brain.

It's interesting, I've heard a lot of people complain about the romance between Catalina and Alessandro, but for me it's the strongest romance Ilona Andrews has written so far. Nevada's romance for example was just... her being super hot for this dude and we really don't have a reason, but with Catalina and Alessandro it makes sense because they've been projecting all this stuff on each other since they first met. It makes sense that they kinda obsess over each other and care a weird amount about each other

If you like childhood friends to lovers I definitely recommend trying The Paper Palace! way more literary fiction than romance but I enjoyed it! check the TW though!

I adored Jeannette’s book! The writing feels so unique and captivating. Listened to her narrate the audio and rated it 5⭐️ for the writing. as someone who has been severely emotionally abused by my loved one and has gone through eating disorder for years, I thought it would be more triggering for me than it was. I didn’t have anxiety attacks reading/listening to it but I know a lot of people might. I always wish for trigger warnings though, but I knew these things about Jennette’s story going in to reading it. The book by Colleen Hoover It Ends With Us triggered me SO badly and deeply upset me to read and this story didn’t thankfully.

Thank you for giving the content warnings to I‘m glad my mom died - I was gonna pick this up, but since I have struggled with eating issues before I will skip it for now. I think because this book was always gonna create so much buzz I‘m a bit disappointed that they didn‘t put content warnings in the book somewhere.

I would agree that My Fake Rake is the weakest in that series but the other ones in the Union of the Rakes series are a lot of fun. If you like a submissive hero the next one Would I Lie to the Duke is really good and the last one is an age gap where the heroine is older: Waiting on a Scot Like You. They all are retellings of 80s movies so that might be where the cringe comes from too

I haven’t picked up a Kiss of Deception because I’m wary of the love triangle, but the Vow of Deception duology that follows it is fun and well done and doesn’t require prior knowledge of the trilogy if you want to give it a try

I was SO sad when the Hidden Legacy series shifted from Nevada to Catalina. I like that couple a million times less than Connor and Nevada, and I also feel like Catalina is basically a Nevada 2.0. This is a general problem with Andrews imo, all their female MCs feel the same.
