Too bad the Fonda Lee novella didn't have quite the impact you were hoping for, but yay that the Chakraborty one did! I didn't realize it featured a retired sea captain as the protagonist - I always love older women main characters.

Same, I always enjoy seeing older women protagonists, and Amina is such a great mc! I think you'd really enjoy it!

Yes!!! the Wayward Pines books are so good!!! Really fun sci-if thrillers! I’ve started the audiobook for Amina and have already been enjoying it but your review has made me even more excited to continue! I’m so glad to see someone gushing about it after reading some more mixed reviews.

I can understand why you felt the way you did about Untethered...it personally worked for me, but I see why it wouldn't for others! Amina Al Sirafi sounds like everything I love in one story 😍

Reading Wayward Pines now and am picking up Amina from my library tomorrow. Can't wait...😲😳😬 your review of the book has peaked my interest. Finished Red Rising (excellent!) and will pick up the next in the series once I finish Amina. Great reviews and exceptional recommendations. 👍🏾

Tori, I'm so glad you enjoyed The One. I also prefer The Passengers but The One was a good time too and I'm looking forward to reading The Marriage Act this month. 😊 And I would've been shocked if you loved Inheriting Games. I heard there was a lot of romance in it and not enough games so I knew not to even attempt it. 🙅🏾♀️ Good on you for even getting through it. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

I'm really curious to read The Marriage Act! I'm going to look out for your thoughts on that one :D. I wanted so much more from Inheritance Games! I didn't even know there was a romance sub-plot and probably wouldn't have minded if the end of the book wasn't such a let down 🤣

Thanks, great video! You got me pumped to pick up Wayward now - lol. I just read Anyone by Charles Soule and it reminded me of Dark Matter/Recursion Blake Crouch. It was a bit more of POV of what the experience is like - I really enjoyed it. Another 5 star read for me in April was Elder Race by Tchaikovsky. Just started Justice of Kings after I've heard you raving about the series. P.S. I need to get your "Go Away I'm Reading' sign :)

So glad you had a better reading month! And after watching your review, I’m even more excited to pick up The Adventures of Amina Al-Sirah. My reading month favorite book this month was “These Infinite Threads”, the sequel to “This Woven Kingdom” by Tahereh Mafi. I’m hooked on her writing style and will definitely dive into her backlist very soon.

Like you, I enjoyed reading The Passengers more than The One but thought that both were good. His newest release The Marriage Act sounds promising too. Glad to hear your rave review of The Adventures of Amina al-Sirafi! It’s one I’ve been holding back on reading just to make sure it wasn’t an over hyped letdown. Obviously not!⚓️🚢

Hi. I read, and enjoyed, Dark Matter by Crouch. Is Pines trilogy SF or is it just a thriller with elements of horror? Thanks. Great video, as always!
@ToriMorrow Жыл бұрын
Thank you! I’d classify it as a mystery/thriller with strong sci-fi elements. There are some creepy moments, especially in book 1, but there aren’t really any horror elements. Hope that helps!
@bartsbookspace Жыл бұрын
@@ToriMorrow Thanks, it definitely helps. It just might be perfect series to read between some harder SF. 👍 and I’m a fan of Twin Peaks, and this seems to have a little bit of that vibe.
