I think euphoria isn’t *too* unrealistic, and I only say this because there was a drug crackdown in my middle school and so many fights and drama, and a girl my friend knew hooked up with older guys in motels in her freshmen year, so it would be unfair of me to say that nothing in euphoria ever actually happens, (US public schools are a mess) but it’s definitely taken to the extreme and makes it seem like it’s just messy adult stuff all the time. Kids aren’t like that all the time, if they are at all, because many are still just going through it and learning. Heart stopper was cute and realistic for a lot more people
@fionap.63112 жыл бұрын
I have to agree with you, in my experience we had a similar highschool to euphoria in the sense of a small town with nothing to do but have sex and do drugs... Many teen pregnancies, addicts in and out of rehab, abusive parents and relationships, most didn't finish school and the lucky one's we had the privilege of leaving and studying in a city actually made something with our lives. As a Bisexual, i wish i had an experience similar to Nick and Charlie just sweet and innocent teenage love... It's very bittersweet

jack you have NO RIGHT to be this entertaining, the sheer power of someone who is intellectual enough to just read and analyze books for a living and funny enough to have me literally laughing out loud while doing so? unmatched

So I watched this video when it came out, and I thought to myself, “hmm, sounds interesting. I’ll probably watch it at some point.” Then last night I decided to watch episode 1…and ended up binging the whole thing! It was so good I couldn’t sleep last night! Then I went down the rabbit hole. Now all things heart stopper that are available from my local library for digital check out are on hold…20 weeks wait on average! This is what I get for coming late to the party. Thanks for the recommend, and the lack of sleep Jack and Alice 🥰

i’ve also met alice oseman once and i have never met such a lovely person. they drew an image for my friend to get tattooed. also it’s lovely as an aroace person to have an aroace author writing both about aroace character like in loveless and allo characters like in heartstopper. also again she’s absolutely lovely

I have been waiting for this!! Ever since you mentioned being invited to do something for this series. . . you have left everyone on a cliffhanger for weeks! Love your reviews! (And, might I add, the extra editing/cinematography you did in this--MY compliments to the chef)

I know in the past you haven’t always loved comics or graphic novels but I hope this opens your eyes and heart up a bit more to all the wonder that is out there! Because I would love to see more comic/graphic novel reviews from you!

I'm so proud of you jack. I know you've been feeling kind of down recently and that it has been difficult for you to make content, you always deliver great content with so much personality and great editing/style. I love you, man.

As an asexual, I’m so glad someone else picked up on the ace vibes Isaac was giving me. Excited to see if it gets explored more in canon 😊

Omg!! I'm so jealous of you meeting Alice!! Can you make a youtube video just on Isaac's books in the Heartstopper series? Or do a book review for Alices books specifically? I would love to see it!!

omg this was every response I wanted from you and more! I am so glad that you are such an Ally to the LGBTQ+ Family and the support and openness that just flows from you it really is lovely to see you explain in such a way. Hope to see you in the library of season 2 if someone from Netflix casting is watching! For me this was SUCH an important queer story and that it shows it in a family friendly but also positive light!!!

Jack's videos are so light-hearted, aesthetic and hilarious and I'm so glad that I stumbled upon this channel a few months ago. The entire book-tube and sutdy-tube community is the most comforting and positive place on the internet, and this channel is one of the reason it exists. Can't wait to read the heartstopper series!
