Gentleman in moscow. The beautiful writing. Just lovely The history of moscow at that time- and the amazing kindness and persistence and power of the main character. Just lovely Braiding sweetgrass. The power of honoring your past and using modern science is an amazing thing. I learned so much about nature, religion, and culture and simple every day living. Lovely writing.

Please stop talking about ALL. It deserves to die out. Horribly irresponsible to have been written, and anyone who disagrees can find a multitude of important critical videos on this platform.

for fourth wing the reason they are allowed to die is because they arent meant to be just "canon fodder" if they cant keep up. They are meant to have control of really powerful abilities and you wouldnt want someone not built for that to have that power. She mentions there is another branch of the military thats for people who didn't exceed at the testing and they are thrown in the front lines. they make the bulk of the military.

Omg I’ve only ever read A little Life and ofc hunger games. After reading a little life I found it was really hard to continue reading other books because it just affected me so much and I didn’t want to read anything else. You sell these ones very well though so I’m excited to start reading again, and I will be making a list from this video🙏❤️

Chelsea, it’s not that Heathcliff and Cathy’s love redeems them! It doesn’t. They are both objectively awful people. No one in this book is 100% good. But they’re not 100% evil either, which is why I love this book. Everyone is morally grey like the clouds over the moors.

While these are funny and witty, let's be honest, these reviews all suck. They are the worst kind of review/critique you can give.

I'm crying at people who think The Hunger Games is some deep social cultural work, it has some of the most basic and uninspired commentary I've ever seen in a book. It's so influential that it metaphorically died out right after the movies came out.

To be honest I thought it was a lame romance novel and the background of the book is more of salmons than pink. I'm glad I've read a few chapters from novel after seeing a few clips from the show online. I'm thinking of getting the novel, but if it's still like that I would get the European version than the U.S. because someone who is in charge of the book covers there clearly had read the story and understood it.

"It needs to have critical or commercial acclaim and therefore have proven they appeal to a somewhat wide audience. So I'm looking at literary prizes and best-seller lists...." Is this really how potential classics should be judged? If so, why does hindsight allow us to see that many non-classics (& worse) overwhelmed best-seller lists & literary prizes of the past? It's probably because those lists weren't a reliable barometer of greatness then-but such lists are suddenly a barometer now? Really? (Check out the complete lists of books that have won Pulitzers & Nobles & you might be astonished at how many are now forgotten. Not all of them, of course, but many, many, many.) (Neglect does not always prove that a book is a failure any more than hoopla always proves it will be beloved to the future.) How about this: Classics-& potential classics-should be judged on merit alone, regardless of how they sold & how they were treated by reviewers? Judging a classic by the level of acclaim & readership it received during its lifetime means, for example, that Moby-Dick (which was initially neglected by critics & readers) would never have broken through.
