I do like that you read the same book! As a reader of mostly very dark books I didn’t feel Fourth Wing was brutal at all and all this war camp thing could be basically any other college with physical education focus, the world building is just non existent and unfortunately it won’t change in the second book. I’m off to read the 3rd one but my expectations are lowwwwww😅

didn’t feel that military setting that deep as well. Maybe I was dissociating or maybe it’s because I read too many fantasy books where politics and war are most likely involved.

All the brutality was just thrown into my face even before I started to care for any character. Reading it together with book besties was the best part for sure. I am curious for some lore explanations which I expect from the 2nd book, but I guess it might be as sloppy as in the first. I loved all the brainwashing and propaganda part though, feels so familiar lol. Also my expectations were very low from the beginning, so I get a lot of fun reading it. Now I will go and search for your reviews ❤️
