So I read “Never” by Jessa Hastings. This is just how I personally felt after my read through. I know Jessa has since issued a statement / apology and future copies of the book will have been revised (or so I’ve read.) Whenever I make videos it’s never my intent to dog on a book or somebody’s work. Just with this one I wish I’d done my research in advance before going in. Hence all this lol but anywho.

I’ve heard that Peter Pan in the story he isn’t very nice and is forgetful so I believe the author took some of those character traits from the original novel and incorporated it into this modern retelling. As for the change she made I have that copy since I believe they’re going to revise it and make new copies I didn’t find it offensive but I believed it was worded funny so many people take it the wrong way. But good to hear your opinions 😊

I did read somewhere she recommended reading the original novel beforehand! I’ll probably hold onto my copy but yeah idk 🫠 the delivery often times just left me like 😶?

@@courtsmindI understand it came off icky at times her age was always a factor it felt pedo-ish but I am wanting to see what she does with the next book and hopefully it’ll be better 🤞🏻

i'd seen this book in the store, added it to Libby then forgot all about it. i thought it would be more along the lines of the new Disney+ movie and the cover looked so nice. now i'm glad i didnt impulse purchase it i like this video and the editing haha many thanks for saving me the time and money. i dont usually research books before reading them but this came up on my suggesteds

Thank you! 🥹 all I really knew going in was that it was a Peter Pan retelling and that she suggested reading the original novel 1st. The live action that came out in the early 2000s is still one of my favorite movies and I loved the cover too so I instantly bought it 🥲 but after everything I cannot say I’d recommend.

Please Google ‘Fae Lore Brownies’ and see that this isn’t about race it’s literally what they are called in Lore. Peter is the worst and calls them slaves but that’s because he is a 12 year old boy in a man’s body. The Peter character doesn’t respect anyone besides himself. I thought the book was addictive but I did get a little annoyed with Daphne and her back and forth. Did every one else miss that Daphne is the one who controls the island weather along side Peter or is that just me???
