I actually kinda liked The Lost Hero, but Jason was terribly written. Looking back he is just so boring and bland, he doesn't really have a personality, his only character traits are "he has amnesia" and "he isn't from camp half-blood". Just trying to avoid spoilers just in case. Both Leo and Piper are more interesting than him, specially Leo, people say "Leo is my son", but to me Leo is my brother.

So… anyone else feel that if this series gets adapted, they should structure the show differently? Like… gives us three seasons of 10-13 episodes each, with the first couple of seasons each doing two of the books across 6-7 episodes a book and then the last being a ten-episode adaptation of the final book? Like, I just feel like that would streamline the story much better and have better progression overall: “The Lost Hero” is a slog in book form, but ending at the mid season reveals about Jason and Percy would jump right into “The Son of Neptune”; then we have a cliffhanger at the end of a “The Mark of Athena”/“The House of Hades” season, which leads to a more action-paced season adaptation of ”The Blood of Olympus” in HoO. I’m not expecting it per se, but I reckon that would be a strategically-intuitive way to adapt this series that’s far superior to “one per season”; it’s a deeper and more complicated story but has much less content varied content within and a show of that length would be the BIGGEST drag… just saying, is all. Oh, Jason… I have Tremendously Complicated Feelings about him as a protagonist. I know that Rick must recognise that of the Seven, he and Piper (but especially him) weren’t the most popular of his POV characters in the setting and I’d like to think he’d do them better in a second attempt at telling their respective stories. Then there’s “Trials of Apollo”… that’ll be fun, I’m sure.

Percy loves the Roman Camp. The Camp Jupiter uses Roman military like management instead of cabins. He likes to stick with children from different god parents. They also developed a society full of demigods and descendants of demigods. It is not strange that Percy would want to stay there because his whole life before Camp Halfblood is not fit in.

Awesomeness!! The Blood of Olympus was my favorite. I really love the B storyline with Nico and Reyna. For me, the first two were hard to get through. After Mark of Athena, it was so much easier to digest. This series was a good transition from Greek to Roman, I must say. ;-)

Yay! You've read Heroes of Olympus too!! I was waiting for this video since I've watched the PJO one. I totally understand your feelings on the first two books of this series; I read those when I was like, 13 years old, and I remember how frustrating it was to get through it, specially the first one since I just wanted to see Percy again and it took me more time to get used to the new characters as the protagonists. Now, looking back, it makes sense that the frustration was mainly because of the memory loss plot; the first two books have that in common. I don't think as a bad plot idea or anything, it's just annoying not having enough information, just like you said. Because of this, I never re-read this series, unlike the PJO series, which I read again many times before in my middle school days. Now because of the TV show and your videos, I'm planning on reading the HOO series again 😊 The 3rd and 4th book were my favorites, I remember finishing The Mark of Athena and having to wait a whole year for the next book, that was torture 😅

I'm going to be honest. I loved every book from the Heroes of Olympus. In my opinion, I like it better than the original collection. Looking back on The Lost Hero now, I can understand why it's harder to read than the other books. BUT! Also, I just didn't read The Son of Neptune until like 2 years after I finished Blood of Olympus 😬 it didn't interest me and I barely remember anything from that book.

Hera is not going to have demigod children even if she wants to. Firstly, she is committed to the marriage, and she will not allow herself to break what she stands for. That is her godhood. Secondly, Hera is the Queen of Olympian Gods. No mortal dare to bang Zeus' wife. That's definitely a life and death thing😂. I know, what a mess 😂

@justhana4779 It could. I can forsee what will happen if Hera gets a demigod child. A. Zeus is going to be mad and take everything necessary to find this kid. B. If Hera loves this kid, Ares and Hephaestus may be jealous and choose to not help their mother because we all know Hera doesn't like his two sons. If Hera does not love this kid, then she becomes a toxic mother. It will be the worst case for this kid's fate. C. This kid will either have to seek protection from either Poseidon or Hades. Poseidon has 50% chance to reject since he still needs to meet Zeus in Olympus. Hades may protect the kid, but in exchange, the kid will never leave Underworld. D. Zeus will consider Hera no longer has the right to stop him from cheating on her. He will not hide from her anymore (This jerk definitely would do that).

One thing Hera and the eldest of her three brothers (in PJO canon Hades is confirmed older than Poseidon; I don’t know if all three sisters are older besides Hestia being firstborn but I assume so) have in common, is that they take their vows SUPER seriously; it says something that the Hades/Pluto children we got had to be literally time-displaced (born before the Big Three made their “no demigod kids” vow that Poseidon and Zeus eventually broke) to be a part of the story.

Great video ❤ You've probably gotten a ton of input on reading orders, but heres my two cents: Since you're already reading toa, id suggest doing chalice of the gods and kane Chronicles next, so afterwards you can bundle all the short stories in one video (demigod files + singer of apollo -> demigod diaries -> demigods and spoilers) Then magnus chase, then sun and the star last (KC takes place about the same time as HoO and MC takes place during ToA) At the very least I hope to bring your attention to the short stories in case you weren't aware of them so far! 😊 Edit: free Palestine ❤🇵🇸
