Sadie Kane is a shit character. She is really overpowered and learns really quickly(even when compared to the rest of the characters in the book) and is really annoying.

Did you know Rick Riordan has published three Percy Jackson/Kane Chronicles crossover short stories called The Son of Sobek, The Staff of Serapis and The Crown of Ptolemy? They are really good and I recommend reading them at some point if you have time (maybe after reading Heroes of Olympus as there could be some spoilers to those books. It’s been some time since I read the short stories so I don’t remember how much, but still). Great video as always!

I haven’t read any yet but I have my eye on a few and think that collection is definitely something you could explore once you finish Riordan’s books.

I haven't read all of them but If you want something close to Percy's voice,I'd recommend the storm runner first! I don't remember the main character's name I think it was Zane? but anyway he is similar to Percy in terms of personality and voice

I cannot put into words how much I would love to have a new series with Carter and Sadie; I'm really afraid though, changes don't come easily for me, I know it's silly cause I got used to the protagonism being shared in HOO, instead of being just Percy's, but for some reason it doesn't feels like it could work out so well with the Kanes, they're already two, it would be weird to have even more people getting in. But it would be amazing to just keep following their adventures. But who knows, we may se a new crossover including Magnus now, there's an hinch that it may happen in TOA. Let's hope.

yes the kane chronicles are so underrated! its actually been announced that they will be adapted, but not by disney+; it'll be adapted by netflix there's actually a trilogy of novellas that rick riordan wrote that's basically a mini crossover between pjo and tkc; you can read them individually in this order: the son of sobek, the staff of serapis, & the crown of ptolemy; or you can get the bind-up version that's called Demigod Magicians: Percy and Annabeth Meet the Kanes, which contains all three :)

I love the Kane Chronicles unconditionally and dare i say i loved it even more than Percy Jackson. Hey for me my childhood was made by Kane Chronicles even though it was just a trilogy and not by Harry Potter yes ive ended up as a mythology nerd now that ive grown up. The concept??of actually enjoying learning history???at age 11??? immaculate, never been done before and Sir Rick had my attention that is equivalent to a pea. 2 years late to this video but yes! I was there since day one, no interest in egyptian Mythology and then The Red Pyramid changed me. Still my favorite Riordan series out of all of them. 16:54 On the one hand, yeah, Egyptian Mythology really needs more recognition and more love. On the other hand, I'm mostly looking forward to Percy Jackson because the majority of Greek mythology movies I've seen changes everything - right down to bringing a Scandinavian monster into a greek story re Clash of the Titans - which is starting to annoy me. Hopefully both the Disney+ Percy Jackson series and the Netflix Kane Chronicles film series will put both mythologies back on the map and clear up a few things earlier movies and tv shows have been getting wrong.

Such a random a late comment, but I was a VERY early person offered to read for the Nina role in House of Anubis, haha. I'm sure among thousands and I didn't take it very seriously. I was in college and the thought of moving to Liverpool for who knows how long didn't appeal to me at the time. I wish I still had the sides (early scripts for the auditions) I was sent, but there probably buried away somewhere collecting dust. I'm amazed at how long it lasted!!

I'm so happy I just found this video! The Kane Chronicles is the first book series I ever really got into and it's the reason I love reading today. Thank you for talking on the mixed representation because I don't see a lot of people focus on that. When I read this book I was so important for me that the characters were mixed and that I could connect with both of their experiences especially because you don't usually see mixed mc's. Mixed issues aren't really talked about in real life and so often (at least in my experience) they get shut down and pushed to this side by many people especially other people of colour who feel like mixed kids don't have a right to be "complaining".

Fun fact! I don't know if you've already been told this, but Netflix has been working on a Kane Chronicles adaptation for a while now, about as long as Disney's been working on Percy Jackson! It's unclear when that's coming out (I think they're still finalizing the script, and it's sort of on the back burner right now) but I'm really excited about it. I love your videos! Im a simple minded person, I see the Kane's, I click. The humor in this trilogy is top-notch and the framing narrative device was so novel and interesting it made my 12 year old self get over my aversion to First person POV and boy am I grateful for that. Also Stan the revindication of Egyptian mythology in media, it gets way more vilified compared to Greek or Norse. (Never watched HoA but def gonna check it out now!) The "Kane Chronicles" is one of the few "Uncle Rick" series I haven't read yet and you made me super curious about it! I think I might have to tackle it once I'm done with "The Heroes of Olympus". I'm so glad you're enjoying Rick Riordan's books so much. =)
