A good fiction novel? By a youtuber? I think I'll recommend Shadiversity's Shadow of the Conqueror. It is quite the interesting premise and while the book is a bit rough in the prose I think it is decent enough with the plot and characters. I'm glad Shad has published this book. It feels fresh and I think Shad has a lot of potential to go from good if rough books to great ones. I don't know if it will be your cup of tea, I'd rather have the official blurb on amazon or audible do its job, but I think you will find the book interesting if nothing else :)

The simple, but enjoyable writing style meant that it was a really easy read and a page-turner for sure. It had an interesting plot with original ideas amongst others and I loved all the characters. About Zoella's new book, I'm surprised that things like the ones you mentioned aren't being noticed by an editor before hitting the publishing stage. It seems to me that many of these modern YA books are in desperate need of a (good) editor.

I wonder if she was taking too long writing a book and her manager (or whoever) urged her to get at least something out of the door. Internet fame is fleeting and there may have been a concern that by the time she'd come up with an idea of how it would end, she'd no longer be relevant. Its certainly why a lot of "KZbinr Movies" are garbage. Writing/filmmaking are long processes, but the KZbinrs only have so much time to pump it out while they still have any spotlight on them at all.

Good morals and ideals that kids really should need in these days. Has its flaws, ofc (I'm sure you may get those better than me :D), but it gave me the hope I needed. Okay, so, I got confused because I have trouble with the idea of "mystery series". Most series of mysteries just have a cast who enter different stories: Sherlock Holmes, the Scrooby Doo gang, Hercule Poirot, even the "Scoobies" in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The mystery is solved in an episode or book, who is the killer, the motives, and the status is returned to quo. But for a series about a mystery killer... I daresay it could work, but you'd still need strong characters that readers can feel connected with. (Sorry for the grammar fails).

I was also reading Defiance via Klaire's blog and it's really good. She was releasing it one chapter a week for free (the woman is truly committed to the passion of her art. She should be charging a lot more for her novels. I remember her saying these were warm-ups to the novel her heart is truly dedicated to and I'm looking forward to seeing what she finally publishes one day if these are warmups.) Anyway, great recommendation. I don't even think of them as KZbinr books; it was just a natural move for Klaire, the same with her music.

Whoever was making the podcast could also be working against the two MCs by claiming that they had something to do with the murder as sort of a hidden antagonist. Shadow of the conqueror is a book authored by the youtuber shadiversity, could give that a go. I've not read it though quite a few say its good, especially since its his first book.

Only youtuberbooks I could somewhat recommend: Ryan Drake series by Will Jordan (a.k.a Critical Drinker) : thriller/James Bond-like (the good ones, unlike the recent movies) Shadow of the Conqueror by Shad Brooks (a.k.a. Shadiversity) : fantasy

Jeremy Scott, the narrator of cinema sins wrote a book called the ables that I thought was good. Maybe that will break your disappointment streak

I'm new, so sorry, I don't know if this has been covered already, but have you read anything by Emma Mills? She writes YA contemporary and was/is a KZbinr under Elmify. But unlike other KZbinr books where they are generally approached as people with a following, she queried and got an agent and then went on submission the usual way. She's kind of left KZbin behind as her author career took off, but if you haven't read anything by her and like cute YA romance and friendship books, they're a good read in my opinion :)

This sounds like it tried to imitate The Secret History.

The plot of this sounds similar to Libba Bray’s Gemma Doyle series. If you like this kind of the boarding school, mystery vibe, try that series out.

Sounds like the podcaster should have been part of the primary POV cast

I didn’t even finish it, got about 3/4 of the way, put it down and never got round to picking it up again. The world building was really lacking and you could see the plot twist coming from the very beginning. The writing itself was fine but it didn’t live up to the hype.

A good KZbinr fiction novel might be 'Axiom's End' by Lindsay Ellis, though not exactly the usual KZbinr book.

My theory is that Zoe contributed some character names and plot points, then Amy did all the writing! Have you read the Roger Galbraith ( aka JK Rowling) detective stories? The last one was so good!

The truth is that I didn't watch this video for the book review; I watched to see just how passionate you about the aspect of talking. My conclusion : You are not an expert at talking; you are a prodigy. The fact that you can compress analytical information into such a fast-paced flurry of logical statements is quite astounding. What drives you to love the aspect of speaking so much? I am actually curious~

The premise kinda reminds me of the Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo. I haven't read that book either but the whole secret society thing...
