Having spent my teenage and most of my adult years in Memphis, I always found it interesting that people started painting portraits of Elvis on black velvet. I remember after his death a whole bunch of souvenir shops opened up all around where Graceland is. They were selling Velvet Elvis' like crazy along with plastic clocks with pendulums that were his legs swinging back and forth. All very tacky and tasteless. I find it interesting she was able to turn the whole black velvet thing into a fantastic Elvis tribute. And what a great voice! :)
