Felt Lego's design is really far away from what we have gotten in the Lightyear movie. This is my own take using pieces from the set and my own parts.

I think the reason for why the original Zurg didn’t have a cockpit was to avoid spoilers. But, you did a great job with the redesign. Very faithful to the original source.

Chubbybots should be hired for make Mechs for Lego because they would actually be worth the price you pay for them! Amazing work once again! I personally would be interested in seeing a mecha with full leg motion that a human has to the point that it could do a Slav Squat. I wonder if that is even possible to make stable.

I really did not like that movie but your redesign of Zurg looks amazing! I wonder if Lego omitted the fitting a Minifig inside part solely to avoid revealing that plot twist ?

hmm i think it might be price point issue. Having to fit buzz inside meant blowing up the size of Zurg which means more piece count.

I was able to build this MOC from 1 zurg set and parts from 9 sellers (UK based) on bricklink. If chubbybot's permitting I'd put together a 99% accurate parts list.
