You legally own the rights to your own creations if it's unique enough (ex: a red square can NOT be copyrighted) - various characters like the red robots could be though since they are distinct enough. basically he owns the characters, but I don't know about the weapons. 5:47, game design note: You introduced a new mechanic with an added failure state, maybe wait a room or two before doing this next time, as you would likely first want to introduce the player to how to use the grapple mechanic first, then maybe how to chain that together with a wall run, or a second grapple, then introduce the failure state. Where in your case as soon as they get the new mechanic they have grapple, jump, jump, wall run, jump pad, grapple all in one motion. For some games this would make sense if you are insistent on perfect gameplay, but that learning curve seems a bit steep. As a follow up note, the following level with the shotgun mechanic is a well rounded way to introduce that level of progressive difficulty. Which is a prime example of how level design should be done. Great work there.
