Have you ever done something like this at home? What should I try next?

Your experiments of testing general beliefs about recycling, composting & sustainability are so enjoyable for my analytical brain to watch 🤩🤓

Aww, thanks Rebecca!! It's fun for my analytical brain to test haha I am glad I am not the only one enjoying these experiments. Thank you so much for following along on my journey :)

This was SUCH a cool video! I have shredded paper my fiancé shredded because it had personal information on, and I’ve just kinda been holding onto it because I don’t think my recycling center takes paper if it’s shredded, so I might try to make our wedding invitations out of it :) we shall see! Thanks for spending the time making this video, Emma!

I loved this. I decided I'm not going to buy cards anymore but now I want to recycle my mail and add some flowers or something to make cute cards! Definitely trying for Valentines day

Great video! I love the approach to learning of "I want to understand this better, so I'm going to do my own experiment". Would have loved to see you take it to the next level and show the weight in a graph, average rate of decrease etc... But maybe that's just the scientist/data nerd in me 😉

Aww, thanks Anna!! this was such an easy experiment, too! Much easier than, say, recycling plastics haha! That is a good thing to keep in mind for future experiments! Makes it much more easy to visualize, nice tip ;)

This was super insightful and entertaining! You're right, it's different to actually see the process of recycling.

It was so cool to see the process and do it myself! I'm glad you enjoyed :)

It would be great if you can just put them together in series to notice the change after every recycling.

That is what I did in this video :)

So when common sense tells us nothing lasts forever, can we choose, when it comes to making paper, to add a little something new (er) to any batch, to every batch? Yes. Why not? Thank you very much for the visualization. I had only thought about re re re re etc... cycling. Hadn't done the experiment.

yes they add new stuff when recycling commercially this is just an experiment to see how many times you can do it without adding any new fibers :)

Don't know how well it works but I have a friend that mixes in dryer lint
