@Bridget Rose But there's a lot of phone spoofing though so you can't really block these guys as they keep coming and coming. I usually mess with them to waste their time. But, there has to be a better way from the phone companies to deal with all these scam calls. I just had a recently retired co-worker who fell for a "crypto" scam cause some "crypto" company was mentioned on some national tv show (that tv show was tricked). My co-worker never told me about it till 2 months later and she told me she was trying to get her deposit of $250 back, but they kept running around with her. I told her she was scammed and should not bother continuing to try and get her money back as the scammers were just trying to pry more information and more money from her. I've told my co-worker before that when it comes to cryptos, you must always invest by yourself and not with anyone ever. Any company who tries to help you invest in cryptos is 100% a scammer. She never listened to me till it was too late She's old and likes things done for her and with ease.

On the one hand I have a lot of experience with scam attempts, but on the other criminals adapt their criminal behaviors over time so we need to stay educated. Lucky for me, my number is unlisted. On some occasion scammers from high premium numbers will call random numbers, so on occasions I get some calls (from Morocco, Cuba, etc etc). They are hoping that one will call back (high premium number) so they can scam you with those high call charges. There are a few of those numbers in my block list :) I understand that there are people that will call back, simply because they need someone to talk too, or they are seeking a job and thinking it might be an employer calling back with good news :P

Netflix needs to get in on this, create an entire series with this guy and others like him... *PARTICULARLY* those guys who can crack into the scammer's systems, reveal their geo-location, and show them on their own video screens. At the same time US special forces should be on the line while the location is identified and raid the place - while the show runner is filming through the scammers' own cameras. Spec Ops should roll in, verify that the show runner can see them on the security screens (i.e. they got the right place), and then start shooting everybody in the place in the hands (ensuring that their hands are never usable again). If indian police get upset, tell them to take it up with the State Department's War Office.

I stopped a customer from being scammed. He was on the phone with someone and came into my store and asked where the gift cards were. I stopped to listen because that’s not weird in itself and when the guy said no they only have one $25 eBay card. I stopped him and asked if he knew the person on the phone. He shook his head ya but didn’t look convincing so I asked again do you know the person on the phone personally? He put the phone down and told me it was someone from his credit card company. I told him to hang up the phone. He tried to explain and I just repeated it’s a scam hang up the phone until I watched him push the end call button. I then sent him to your channel. Hopefully he spreads this new information to his friends. He was only in his late 40s early 50s. Keep keeping on. You are doing good work. This is the second customer I’ve saved. Unfortunately the first one had already sent $400 to them and was on the second round.

I got a random call from a credit card company talking about 'problems' with my credit card - only it wasn't a credit card I had. Tried to convince the guy it wasn't my card, but he was fucking persistent. After I caught on I led him a merry string for two hours acting more and more deranged as time went by until he finally hung up.

So i just visited my sweet grandparents. At some point in my visit i found they had been scammed by a tech support scam. I found fake antivirus softwares, a notepad note with numbers on it (which were disconnected and allegedly from Lenovo), and even Team Viewer files. It looked exactly like the crap that i’ve seen on this and other scambaiter channels. I recognized it right away. They only lost a few hundred bucks, but still, i cleaned out the computer and explained it all to them. Even watched a couple of your videos. Having this talk with your grandparents is akin to having the birds and the bees talk with a teen. Its uncomfortable but its necessary. DO IT!! Stay safe out there. You can't give out these scammers information cause there's a wide variety of sick people out there. Some wanting to just call and harass them, some wanting to learn from them/join them and i would bet money there's a few folks out there who try flat out murder. And while I don't have a problem with harassing and haranguing them and making their lives miserable, i cannot condone ending their lives. They deserve to be caught and punished and imprisoned for their crimes.

About 6 or 7 years ago I was getting scam IRS calls and keeping them on the line as long as I could. My record was 3 hours. It was very low tech but I would do it while I was doing some routine task and figured I was saving someone they might scam. I love these guys who take it to a whole other level. Wish I had the computer skills to do the same. But if we all kept them on the phone for a little while it would help save vulnerable people. I think I'll go back to answering these numbers and keeping them occupied.

Man, this is disgusting. Kudos to you for doing this great work. I have a couple of suggestions: 1. These worthless scammers deserve no mercy. So, please just make the personal information that you get from their files public. We really don't have to care about the morality of that because they're literally using the public data of gullible people to scam them mercilessly. Most of these scammers work secretly there, so their family don't know about it. Making it public really stops others from getting into that shitty job. 2. Since most of these scams involve gift cards, we should really have Target, BestBuy, Macy's (three of the most widely used malls in the scam) display a warning on top of their gift card sections about this scam. That way, the non-tech savvy senior citizens will at least realize that something of that sort might be happening with them right while buying.

You know in Russia there is a service similar to this called sober driver. Which is like if youre out with your own car, and youre in the position where you have a drink with the lads or had above the minimum required, you can call a guy that will drive you home in your car and park it for you and then go home. Its better than attempting to drunk drive so its quite beneficial.

First off, thank you and all the other anti-scam call hacker types who do this kind of work! Secondly, and maybe this is just a pipe dream, but what if at stores where you buy gift cards there was a special small section of "think you're being scammed?" cards that look legit but if you try to redeem them it reports that PC/internet connection to the authorities or something along those lines. I know that almost definitely won't happen, but it depresses me knowing that there's still plenty of old and/or naïve innocent people who fall for this stuff every day.

I too have helped stopped (from our store anyway) of selling these cards. One woman had him on the phone while she was there and he had her computer locked. She called cops, don't know what happened from there.
