I remember when i watched a similar video called "The Little Things" from BurterSpeed at the time of WZ1, and it's amazing to think that what was a problem as the time, today is even worse. What cheers me up a little bit is knowing that the community at that time was heard, i hope the same happens this time.

Man, great video, but holy shit... The saddest part about this whole ordeal is that all your points have already been addressed with WZ1, yet for some reason they decided to take a step back in every single direction. I'd say that Infinity Ward is at fault for WZ2 being a disappointment. Half of their changes made were either for the sake of change, or to push out the vision of a couple devs who wanted the game abandon it's identity and become a PUBG clone (according to leaks). Even when big streamers gave them feedback about the game, they remained stubborn and refused to make any changes, and now they have so much work to do to stop bleeding player counts.

Really does feel like change for the sake of change, and it feels like they hired UI artists that don’t have a good grasp on accessibility within video games. Hopefully they’ll reconsider these decisions!

As someone who enjoys WZ2 and believes that a lot of the criticisms are overblown nitpicking, your video concerning the HUD is spot on. IW went too minimalist/clean in their redesign, and in return, made looting harder and less enjoyable. Great job in the redesign.

Thanks so much! I wouldn’t focus so much on the nitpicky things if they hadn’t just flat out removed so many awesome features from WZ1. I remember playing Fortnite in 2017 and the HUD was really lacking, but it didn’t detract from the experience since I didn’t have anything to compare it to. Comparatively in WZ2, I can look back at Caldera and see just how much was thoughtlessly rolled back.

It is so insane that WZ2 removed all the stuff that people had been asking for for 3 years in WZ1, and now they are going backwards again scrambling to revert back to WZ1. The fact that this video needs to exist is so ridiculous because in WZ1 they had pretty much perfect UI.

An amazing video! Such high quality! Now, what this video really highlights is how Plain & lifeless this game is. It’s so dull & bleak, you can really feel how little the devs care about this game. I just do not understand why they aren't able to pull this off. They put so much effort in stuff that players do not want. Now i see your ideas and i don't want to play Warzone anymore. How hard could it be to implement your ideas? Your redesign makes everything less frustrating and more fluid and responsive. Great work!

Because the UI designers IW hired were from fucking Hulu. Explains why the UI looks shit, not made by people who work with video games. There are so many things they could do to make WZ2's UI/UX experience better, but tbh I think it's a lost cause. 11 studios working on this game and 0 changes that we need. When there's an UI change/update, it sounds something like this. ''We made the text more visible and changed the location of the social tab!'' Meanwhile nothing changes in game. The whole UI needs a big overhaul, 6 months into the game and we got jack lmao.

I usually play kbm and the experience with navigating the UI usually just ends up being tedious rather than just out right bad but one day I decided to play with pad and was doing fighting game combos trying to simply invite a friend. 😂

I want the ability to manually put on my gas mask back into the game. When the fortunes keep map released, you could enable a setting that would put a gas mask on until it broke instead of putting it on when you touch gas. This saved so much time from annoying mask animations and I’d like to see it return.

Such a great video and concept that would definitely help out. I don't agree with a few things like making the kill counter bigger (Just my personal preference) but making the colors different on everything like you showed is the way to go. Props!

What editing software did you use to create all this?

For the redesigns I used Photoshop, Illustrator, and Figma as for the video editing, lol, it's called camtasia. i just couldn't grasp final cut pro too well, so camtasia was helpful in pumping out edits quickly. Hope you enjoyed the video!

It's genuinely baffling how poorly everything is being handled. What is the management thinking. Why is functionality not the priority for a menu. To be fair, redesigning icons takes a few hours to do. Programming them into a functional UI/HUD is a whole different beast.

@@lj5190 Working on top of the existing UI, you wouldn't need to change much in programming, its still mostly an art task. The only one that'd require more engineering time is the buystation re design, since the UX changed.

All this is cool but when I’m getting melted in .1ms and can’t even hit a slide cancel to get around a corner or buy a UAV to see where people are because they don’t even pop up on my mini map when they shoot without a silencer I’d rather focus on getting that changed before the UI shit that doesn’t effect how the game actually plays…

I think you're missing the point of the video, then. It's not previewing all of the problems with the game, and in fact, it addresses this head on. These are the less relevant problems, the less spoken problems. Different teams work on different problems. Gun balance and movement surely aren't worked on by the same people that focus on UI and HUD refinements. These aren't the big things, they're the quality of life things!

I agree with 99% of this videos suggestions but I firmly believe all of this stuff should happen after all of the core game mechanic changes and shouldn't be focused on until the game is at a playable state like wz1 was when those videos started coming out.
