To think we went from people being overly modest to dressing more freely, and then to people flaunting their sexuality, to now even trying to sexualized the children. I agree with you van it does seem to be an attack on Christianity. It appears they are trying to destroy morality.

Thank you for talking about this touchy subject. I have been amazed by the way “feminism” is portrayed. The objectification of women was something we fought against in the 70’s. Now women are objectifying themselves and calling it feminism. Little girls twerking on family channels is appalling. Women in rap bragging about their private parts being better than other women’s…what is happening? What about pursuit of intellectual excellence, curing cancer, etc.? Glad my daughters are grown. This culture would have presented quite a challenge to my style of parenting.

As an atheist liberal and a former technocrat I have to completely agree with Van, Ben and Candace. The issue I have is the same question JBP raised in a debate and a question that I think is still unanswered: how do we know the left has gone too far? Humanity and history clearly answered it on the right side in a persisting manner. But the lesson on the left side is still amorphous (as far as I understand it). I am libertarian (anti-authoritarian) but even I recognize the importance of tradition in culture and a modicum of decency and grace, no matter how atheist I can be. If we can nail down that question, we can bring the left back to the center and police the extremes more effectively, and I do say the left, because the right already does its own pruning effectively (in my estimation)

You should never be ashamed or ridiculed for agreeing with the TRUTH. It doesn't matter what the source is. Truth is truth. Being able to acknowledge when someone you generally disagrees with is saying something righteous is an important part of political discourse. And this is a topic that needs to be talked about. Teens need to practice more abstinence as well. The science behind all of it shows how unhealthy these activities can be on the mind and body. And that's without a Christian worldview being imposed on the topic. When you bring Christianity to the discussion, it just goes up another level. Thank you for talking about both phonography and religion together. It's vital that we speak truth into these topics.

I remember reading an article way back in the early days of the internet in the early 2000s that was describing a survey of mental health counselors at university health clinics in the US. They said that they were seeing a steep increase in young women with body image issues, including very attractive young women at the peak of their desirability in their late teens and early twenties. They were having these problems because their bodies did not arouse their boyfriends, who had already consumed so much pornography, they could not deal with an actual human female body that might have hair or moles or flab or stretch marks on it. Their idealized images of women in porn was interfering with their ability to have actual sex with actual human women right there in the room, and the young women were taking it very badly. That was about 20 years ago. Do you think this issue has gotten better or worse since then? Watching porn for sex tips is like watching WWE to learn about authentic Greco-Roman wrestling. That's not how that works. Not to mention, as Thomas Paine said, what we get too easily, we value too lightly. Back in my day, it was a struggle to get to see some titties. And when you finally got to see some boobs, probably in a stolen Playboy or Penthouse magazine in the woods behind your cousin's house, dammit, you CHERISHED those boobs! LOL
