I Regret Everything

I don't regret anything...or at least that's what I would have told you a few weeks ago.
That was until I read an article by Carina Chocano that included this quote:
"The point of regret is not to try to change the past, but to shed light on the present."
It shifted how I viewed regret. Up until then, regret was something negative...something to be avoided...something that served no purpose in my life. After all, I can't change the past.
But Carina's quote, and another quote I read from Janet Landman gave me real food for thought.
"Regret may not only tell us that something is wrong, but it can also move us to do something about it."
In 'Your Best Year Ever' by Michael Hyatt, he dedicates a chapter to how we can harness the power of regret. He says "What if regret isn't something reminding us of what's impossible, but rather pointing us towards what is possible."
Maybe it's time to rethink your definition of regret.
