Bluebrixx sells a version of this where you can use every switch individually for 29,95€. They also have curves with a wider radius. Their Tracks are injection molded. But they are located in Germany so I do not now if someone in the USA can order them.

I have used BrickTracks for wide radius track. It's injection molded as well and in the US. No for way turn out though.

Enjoyed the video, but the Double Crossover has one major flaw. You can not have two trains running at the same time, in the same direction, with out the trains running into each other. If LEGO had some how made the switch with 4 independent turn outs, it would be the best piece of track ever. Trust me, my 5 year old grandson can turn this track switch into a 3 ring circus with one trip around the layout. LOL BTW I did end up getting a TrixBrix version, which solved the problem, but the quality is not anywhere close to LEGO. The price is better, and I don't have to worry about the grandson.... Keep up the videos, love your stuff.

Thank you for this reply! I should have mentioned that in the video. When I was younger, I used to hold the switch vertical to keep both sides of the switch open just enough to let a train wheel get through. This sometimes allowed two trains to run in the same direction on this switch but, it was tricky and often ended in collisions. I will have to pick up the TrixBrix version to compare them. Thank you for the positive feedback! I will keep the videos coming.

Trix brix double straights are fine.

No. That is the problem with this part. You can not drive two trains together in parallel in both directions because of the switches. I have it and I tried it. Not the best solutions because the right and left track is connected by single switch operating both at the same time.

I did mess up with how I stated it but I was able to get two trains to run parallel in the same direction when I held the switch vertically. This allowed enough room for the train wheel to get through and it sometimes worked but when the switch moved in either direction a collision would happen haha. Hopefully Lego will make one that allows two trains in the same direction one day.

Maybe try and reach out to the 3d-Printing community, they might be able to make a replica of it or search for the original patent and make a copy from it to print on a resin printer
