The War Within and the two expacs coming after promise to wrap up the last 20 years of the story. It should be a great time to dive back into WoW.

jeesh im getting old. god, i remember when vanilla wow originally launched in the early 2000's and flying on a griffen for the first time and seeing people running around on the ground below me in real time. that was so revolutionary. i still cant believe this mmo is still going strong. same with eve. amazing! i think the original gW2 came out not to long after. i never did play it back then though.

Lovely video! Agree with all your points. I started again after playing Cataclysm the last. Have been playing for 4 months now and loving it. The skyriding feels nicely implemented coming from GW2, although it took some getting used to for me still. Only small tidbit for me is the subscription fee; paying it makes me feel obliged to play WoW, which made me shirk my GW2 "duties". So I really havent logged on in GW2. Now I'm debating which game to buy the expansion for. First world problems I guess

as a new player, dragonflight was my very first taste of WoW and it was a blast🐲 it's gonna be a busy week for us GW2 and WoW folks😅both expansions launch the SAME WEEK... aug 20th is janthir wilds for GW2, and aug 22nd is the war within for WoW. also, big props to you kroof for playing shadow priest🙏🏻(it's my main class/spec)

I retried WOW for a month. Created new characters leveled one to 60 and others to 33 and 18. I find while playing wow is more of an RPG game than an MMO. I don't get the same world emerge feeling I get from guild wars 2 or other games. I ran through story. Only one time I was able to get into a dungeon and play with other random people - because the story brought me to dungeon. There is nothing that showed me how to join a group, I felt lost sometimes. In the end I could not justify paying 15 dollars a month for WOW. Granted it was fun - but characters I create - were so generic and as I leveled the clothes I got through playing wasn't very exciting. I am glad I tried wow. But that's about it.

I'm a GW2 main and I hadn't played WoW retail since Cataclysm, and have only dabbled with it since (I've played a little of the Horde side of BfA, but only some early questing). I decided recently to try Dragonflight with an evoker and I was blown away by the sense of production, open world exploration, map scale and verticality. I was just shocked at how much fun I was having. I actually decided to make an alliance Rogue and play the Alliance side of BfA in Kul Tiras, and I've been having a blast with that as well. I think that zone is just super fun and tonally right up my alley. Plus, it reminded me of one reason I miss WoW: Role Playing skills! The fact that I can just stealth all the time as a rogue, or eye of kilrog as a lock, or far sight as a shaman. It actually has made the story more fun for me. I'm literally sneaking around finding evidence of foul play in factories and I'm in full stealth. That's something GW2, FF14, or really any other MMO can't provide. I love it. And it allows a player to actually PLAY differently, and not just in combat or instanced stuff.

Now War Within is out, dragonflight is included in subscription - going to re-sub and experience dragonflight for first time, if all goes well I will consider war within :)

I loved Legion, BfA (only until 8.2), SL is when I lost my interest in WOW altogether, DF had a nice Blue DF questline, and I'm not really sure about the WW. I will most likely not return to Azeroth, but I occasionally check the music and cutscenes. :3

Since you did the whole campaign recently rather than me doing it piece by piece... What did we get those dragonstones at the start for since the dragons got power from the tree? And did I miss what the real point of Tyr was? He just seems there to be there

I mean, wow, can be fun, but so can gw2. I came back on basically the end of dragonflight and enjoying it, and now im playing tww and enjoying it even more. I have also played gw2 off and on, but like, wow, I just got bored and quit playing. With the new improvements, especially to tww. I am so much better and possibly the best expansion yet. I keep hearing it and have to agree so much more to do it right now, and when season one starts, I will add more content. I have to hand it to the creators who started thinking of solo players and haveing more options to play, especially if you don't have a group to play with like me. It's actually one of the reasons I think I enjoy it morw because it gives me fun things to do.

I left WoW Dragonflight to come back to GW2. I played WoW from TBC - Cata. Left. Came back for Legion - BFA. Left again in Shadowlands but came back for Dragonflight. Left. I was playing GW2 on and off at the same time as Legion/Shadowlands & Dragonflight. As I'm 50 now I do prefer the more laid back open world of GW2. Plus the GW2 community are a lot nicer.

I Agree, i tried to get back to both Wow DragonFly and Cata Classic. And the community is just horrible.... I got insulted for nothing, i uninstalled the game and never gonna try again.

@@KROOF Because Blizzard/Activision are a scummy corporate abomination that does not deserve any recognition or praise whatsoever. Blizzard has an endemic reputation for sexual harassment and intimidation to their employees. Blizzard/Activision have a reputation for generating incredible profits year on year and yet laying off thousands of staff for no discernable reason besides keeping the stock holders happy. Blizzard were infamous for being called out for having a self-called "Cosby Room" at conventions designed to lure young female journalists and social media "talent" into rooms to be plied with alcohol and "promises" by chief Blizz/Activision executives. Activision's CEO Bobby Kotick is on record for threatening to kill a female employee if she went forth with proceeding with a legal suit accusing sexual abuse. Hell a Blizzard employee actually committed suicide due to the sexual abuse and bullying by male staff! That's a drop in the gigantic fetid pool that Activision/Blizzard are responsible for. I'm incredibly disappointed, Kroof, that you have hitched your wagon to Blizzard's noxious train. I still love seeing your GW2 content but again, am disappointed.

I gave wow abit of a return try during the dragonflight launch, and it def is very polished since i played ages ago. But the problem for me is the combat is still very outdated, and i couldnt really stand it. Not that GW2 combat is great, but at least its alot more active.
