@@Fenilee The sides of the shirt are sewn in a way that flares out to hide a tummy. It's a popular technique used when making flattering silhouettes. I have a large chest so I often have to get plus sized tops and I alter them to be more fitted at the waist.

Sizing is fake af anyway, there is no real standard to it. You can buy a t-shirt in “your size” from 2 different brands or from 2 different stores and they may fit totally different even if they’re meant to be the exact same style. You could say the same thing about the sweater she tried on, it may not be in a size that would fit her accordingly but now it’s just “oversized.” Personally, size has left the chat for me, the only exception is items that are too small as I’m a fellow busty bitch (with sensory issues as well) but other than that it’s all fair game if it’s cute and I know it’ll function within my wardrobe!

The first top looked like it had white panels each side so you could have sewn both sides in to make it slim fitting and take away to white sides

Are you trying to think of a “baby tee” from the late ‘90s? If so, I don’t think that tee would quite qualify, but close. My experience with the baby tee trend was that they hit just at the waistband of the pants, so not a crop top, but on the short side. They had to have a lettuce edge or you could maybe get away with a raw but just serged edge, they always had short sleeves, and the neck had some delicate elastic with little loops along it sewn on. They often had one smaller graphic image right in the middle of the chest, such as a daisy or a cutesy character. I had a white one with little white daisies, and an ivory one with a colorful Gerbera daisy on it. This was around 1997-1998.
