Nice video, although, as a history buff, Ben Franklin never wanted to have the turkey as a national symbol, he compared the eagle to a turkey to insult the bird because he thought it was ugly. He had a chance to put a symbol on a quarter, and instead of putting a turkey, he wanted to put Moses parting the Red Sea, but it was too expensive to put the engraving on a quarter.

I'm so surprised you didn't mention "the great depression." The world at its financially lowest and how a new president and tragically WWII helped. Because WWII opened a tone of job opportunities for men and women.
@Sumschmuck6 ай бұрын
FDR did NOT help the great depression. Economic reports from the time show that until WW2 and lend lease revitalized the trade economy, FDRs new deal made the state of the depression worse as he would raise taxes to create programs like social security and welfare. Raised taxes meant people lost more of their pay and thus lost their spending power. No spending power means nobody buys products, which means no profits, which means companies die, and the economy is dropped.
@cptDutch6 ай бұрын
No government of any country in any time period has ever fixed an economic depression, only the masses of civilians spending money (or deliberately not spending on useless imported products that won't boost their own economy) fixed depressions. Destroying the economic balance with shortsighted decisions and making depressions however is something government are experts in.

@Sumschmuck5 ай бұрын
@@Christian_H3rnand3z that's not remotely true. Hoover did not want anyone to suffer, he knew the market would heal itself in time so long as it remained active. What hurt his hopes were the tariffs placed on foreign goods as a result of America returning to isolationism. Hence why when ww2 broke out and the lend lease program had begun, the great depression was finally able to end as jobs were created in the military and industrial fields and open trade allowed the free market to circulate once more.
