Maybe she’s still an American citizen or whatever by birth but she definitely lives or at least practices medicine in Argentina. It can be much much worse. I had one for over 3 years and when the ingrown part was removed, there was so much curled up around the side of the toe. Not to mention constantly being infected the whole time. I completely agree about it being amazing about no blood being shed.

OMG!!!! I had this done at my local hospital by a so-called specialist and he froze me up and butchered my toe. I ended up fighting a huge infection for months and while it's now "healed" over it looks horrible and this was almost a year ago. You are so careful and cause no extra trauma at all. I wish I had the option to come to someone like you, that obviously cares, instead of the butcher the system forced me to see.

Where I live this kind of professional is not covered by health insurances. The 'free' health if you go, good luck, overworked, no good materials and mostly do a bad job, cause they were not trained in this. But the lone professionals dont charge so much, the way is to save up for emergencies.

😱😲OMGAWD! This reminds me of the yearsssss that I suffered with ingrown BIG toenails on both feet. One much worse than the other. Then, a year ago I started Chemo for Stage 4 Breast Cancer, and about 6 months later, one of the nails simply fell off, and the other has only just fallen off. THANKS GOD! I avoided treatment through sheer fear. 😝😢Both new nails are fine, and so is my cancer! 🙏🤗👏

@5:30 OH MY GOODNESS!!!!! I did not expect to see that much ingrown toe left. I thought you were just doing clean up after pulling a much smaller ingrown nail. WOW, I have ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA how the patient was able to endure that procedure without local anesthesia? Did a medical doctor perform a digital block before you saw the patient? As a child, I endured dozens of these procedures because my parents didn't care & I wasn't allowed to use nail clippers or anything on my own. I only had a letter opener, rubbing alcohol & paper clips to try to keep the edge of my toenail from burying into my toe flesh & get infected.

I have OCD and one of my compulsions is picking my skin, many around my fingernails and toenails. Due to this fact, I think I actually caused something similar to what this patient has on my right toe! I had something similar happen but they just kept pulling out more and more toenail. Then they took a bunch of pics (ct? mri?) to see what was actually going on. I had the equivalent of 3 toenails in my big toe on both feet. I had to have them surgically removed so they could make sure there wasn't any left in there...

I had one just like this. That was really big and mine was twice as big. My entire toe was purple and about 3 times the size. It really was incredible what came out of it. It was surgically removed because it was so infected at that point I couldn’t walk on it let alone dig a nail out. Kudos!

YES! I’ve been telling doctors for YEARS that I have a “second toenail” on the side of my big toes… this is EXACTLY what I deal with. Finally - evidence that I’m not crazy. I always worry I won’t be able to walk when I get too old to cut my own toenails and remove this growth myself anymore.
