I'm proud to present you this video which is the culmination of over two weeks of modding, practicing, performing and of course editing. I'm still pretty new to this game so apologies if my lines and whatnot are not the best but I gave it the ol college try. Also, the lap counter is simply pretend and just some editing magic we decided to add for fun -- no lakitu does not count laps at this time. I would love to see some form of "NoLakitu" specialty category for speedrunning best lap times. Seems like there's a lot of potential for creative and fascinating ways to break a good amount of the courses that I'd be super interested in seeing

It’s only possible because he took off the lap checkpoints in the games code, just a noNakitu speedrun would make it so when you reach the end it doesn’t count as a lap

And if they did remove checkpoints too itd be too easy to cheese by just circling the finish line.. but i think the biggest problem is a lot of these, coconut mall especially, are only possible because theyre modded maps that add terrain to the scenery and i think thats too much to ask for a speedrunning category

This is SO COOL!!! Also, quick shortcut idea. Go onto the right path on split path at the start of wild woods. Then mushroom and drop down to the lily pad section. Go back through the normal route of the course to complete a lap

What this really is is showcasing how racing games are meant to be played; this is why I like Distance so much, it knew this fact from the very beginning, and you even have a car that enables you to do all sorts of crazy skips once you develop proper skills at how to control it. I've yet to come across a better racing game
