my only question is why they didn’t integrate holidays along with the university pack - for example, sims still have classes on days like harvestfest and winterfest. I know it’s easy to reschedule the holiday, but I still feel like it’s an oversight on their part because holiday breaks are huge for IRL students, and for the sims, it’d be huge, even just for one day. wack

I agree. It looks like a really nice house... on top of a building??? I'd rather have the original exterior with the cafeteria and other stuff included inside, but just for convenience. I ended up living in the common area to have access to a computer and avoid trash, sleeping on the coach and washing hands instead of having a shower so that I could focus on studying (really stressful).

if u don’t like the tile in your home you should invest in that “wood” flooring that’s just panels of wood looking plastic and they connect together like puzzle pieces. you can just set it on top of the tile and it doesn’t damage the floor underneath at all

I believe there's some you don't even have to stick down, @@alyssa_faith , they just fit together a bit like puzzle pieces as Elizabeth mentioned with groves on the sides - and the pressure of them puzzled together and nuzzled between the walls keeps them in place. They're supposed to be super easy to clean and pretty scratch resistant too. And when you move or want a change, you just pop the first one out and the rest come apart pretty easy from there. (Some may be a bit pricey, but for renters and things, may be worth the investment.)

My landlord, in her infinite "wisdom" put vinyl floors and carpet everywhere. I can overlay anything over the carpet other then rugs. And the vinyl floor is so badly fitted that it bubbles all over the place so it's a) a tripping hazard and b) I can't overlay anything on it.

Here's another idea: create a folder called "My Syllabus Docs" and put all of your syllabus links there. Then what you want to do is make sure you ONLY print out the assignment schedule part of each syllabus. I print out my schedules so that I can pace myself. I hate professors that constantly change their schedules. It's so annoying and it really messes up my rhythm.

It makes me so happy that Brightchester’s colours are green because my university has the same old feel, it is made up of beautiful brickwork buildings covered in ivy. On top of that, our school colours are green and gold and we are an arts school. Essentially, it just feels like my little maritime Canadian university. AND THEN. My boyfriend goes to the science counterpart to my university that has more modern buildings and is just down the hill from my campus (the universities are on the same campus) and their colours are red and black! So it feels just like my university life overall.

Kayla I would like to thank you for all your building tutorials. I almost never build my own house on the sims I always download one off the gallery and renovate it to my liking. But I actually made my own house the other day and it looks amazing, even though I usually like modern houses and if I do build it's a modern house, and I know you don't build those often. But my house finally isn't just a big box without a roof because I could never do roofs right, or windows, or the outside shell. But now I'm somewhat okay at building now so thank you for all your building tips it's really helped me.

Most of my professors didn’t even know how to use the online campus, some of them would openly ignore the syllabus and almost every one of them wouldn’t gave us the material to study, the wouldn’t even upload the power points online. I love how I could just picture myself walking in that tile when you were describing it and knew *exactly* what you were talking about. I don't have it in my house, but I do have it in my beach house(well, my grandparents). The house is old and it has 4 bedrooms(which are furnished with old beds from the eightites and that's it) which are behind 2 hallways that are just one wall and a mosquito screen, one long hall connecting the two hallways, and a kitchen/living room area and it is all covered with that tile and the humidity and the sand gets on the tile and walking on it feels so *shudder* and it is also in the bedrooms, which is just horrible.

I know this video was posted almost a year ago, but for those who are dealing with what lilsimsie is dealing with concerning your professor/teacher, don't hesitate to let them know. You are paying for these classes, so make sure if things are not going the way you think they should, or have in the past, please inform the teacher. They may not know that's what's going on and give you hard copies of what is needed. Don't expect them to know, or assume other people have addressed the issue. Talking about your dorm reminded me of mine lol. The floors were concrete, the heat was on 24/7 (it never turned on no matter what way the dial was turned), the walls were poorly painted white, and we were given one (1) floor lamp for lighting. No ceiling light or two lamps for each person in the room, one floor light that barely produced enough light to see a corner of my room. New York dorms are something else :(

at about 19:42 - my residence building on campus was actually designed/constructed by the same guy who designed the prison a few towns over from my university town. We literally live in the same hallway/dorm system as prison cells, the only exception being extra storage and no bars over the windows :/ Despite this, living on campus was actually a pretty new and weird experience, but I'm grateful that I'm privileged enough to have gotten the chance to live in that tiny dump for a year.

Elainnie Singleterry Yeah, I tried several times but I'm too lazy to download mods or cc, find the one I like etc. Not only for Sims, I genuinely don't use mods in games. And my husband installs like 1000 mods for any game he plays lol

I'm assuming tiles are used more often down there because of the humidity and ease of cleaning. I live in the northeast US, and our humidity isn't as bad as FL's. During the summer time, my dad's house would sometimes get so damp (from either rain outside or general heat/humidity outside), even with the windows closed, that you could feel the moisture in the carpets and soft furnishings (beds, sofas, etc). If in a house with wood floors, the boards could possibly warp with too much moisture. Tiles are easier to clean and maintain.

Brick walls and awful overhead lighting were in the old freshman dorms. Had a lot of fun there, but grateful when my friends moved to the new suites towers with kitchens. I lived at home, but hung out at my friend's dorms all the time.

Do American Uni's really have big shared bathrooms like this? Most student accommodation I've seen in the UK have their own tiny bathrooms 😂 😂 😂

I know the older building on my campus (when I went to uni in the UK) had these big shared bathrooms, 12 people were sharing! But the newer buildings mostly had ensuits or 6 people shared multiple toilets and a seperate shower!

My college had options. Some had one massive bathroom for each floor, and you had to have a special key to get into your floor's bathroom, aka visitors had to get creative with using the bathroom. I never lived in one of those, though, because I lived in two different dorms where there was a bathroom and a suite for four people.

My entire house is tiled except for the bedrooms. I live in a hot country. Tiles keep houses cool.

Annie Drewer yeah same! I live in Australia, so for me, it’s normal to have tile in the whole house and carpet in the bedrooms. Tile in the kitchen, lounge room/living room, bathroom, toilet, laundry, etc. carpet in my fathers and my room. And concrete in the garage. It’s so simple.

Heres a few tips for modern designs 1. Use geometric shapes and angles. Your fancy box idea works well, the shape can be simple or complex. A-symmetry can be a good tool. 2. A lot of modern builds are monochromatic with bright and/or contrasting pops of color. Also colorblocking is usueful. 3. Lots of glass and big windows is common to maximize light and views. Also metals, glass, linen, and light or dark woods is common, not much yellow or cherry type woods. Stick to gray and chocolate based wood. 4. Furniture tends to be more geometric, so squared off edges, round shapes, and unique curves. 5. Art tends to be abstract or geometric(take a shot everytime u read geometric) with similar color theories I mentioned above.

I lived in Florida for six years. I feel your pain with the tiles. I HATED them. I refuse to even put tiles anywhere but bathrooms and maybe the kitchens in my Sims house. I almost cried when I moved and did apartment shopping and realized there were no tiles! 🙌🏽

As an Australian most new homes have white tile for the main flooring and I love it it keeps the houses cooler I just wis I didn't have to mop as often.
