great video! you got me hooked even tho I dumped my laptop because it died running 24x7 as a home server one day >)

For those who dont have an rj45 port. First get a usb to ethernet adapter, test it and only then replace the wifi card with the tpu. Getting drivers is way easier with wifi network connection still present

I have a few questions. Which cameras are you using? Is there any specification needed for compatibility of the camera with this TPU. Are the cameras hard wired to your laptop through a switch? Are you running home assistant server on the old laptop? Is the hardware enough to run it smoothly? Do you use proxmox or any other virtualisation on this laptop? I have a couple of old laptops which I want to put to good use. Your experiences will help me decide what to run on them. Thanks.

These are normal IP cameras and you can use any IP camera that supports RTSP stream (almost all of them does). No matter which brand and both wired and wireless. I am running Home Assistant on Proxmox on a seperate machine (Intel NUC). You can use Proxmox on any of your laptop and run all services.

Feel Free to ask me anything related to Google's Coral TPU and Frigate installed on this laptop?
@Sanjay-ni9ilКүн бұрын
Brother, my question is off-topic, but could you clarify my doubt? I need a laptop in the price range of 35k-40k, primarily for programming. Playing Valorant occasionally is optional. Can you suggest an all-rounder laptop that meets this requirement?

Hey! I haven’t been following the laptop market closely or working with laptops much recently, so I may not be the best person to recommend the latest models. There are tons of new options out there, so it might be worth checking out some recent reviews or comparison guides online for a more informed choice. 😊

I don't know how much your budget is in my currency. But I just bought a Lenovo with 32gb and AMD 8 core from the 8000 series. OLED screen, 1tb ssd. 1200€. Loving everything about it and planning to use it for at least 5 years, which makes it very good value for me
@ravis1nghКүн бұрын
His budget is ~ 1/3 of what you spent. Around 400-450 €
@annebokma4637Күн бұрын
@@ravis1ngh in that case, refurbished. A sturdy business laptop can be had around that price, while most other new machines (here with that budget, might be different there) around that price are compromised in one way or another.

Nice video brother can you use Hailo AI acceleration module instead of Google Coral edge tpu as it gives only two TOPS we are helio AI module gives 13 TOPS 🙏🙏🙏🙏
@ravis1nghКүн бұрын
Thanks for the question, @SachinKumar-cl7xm! 🙏 At the moment, Frigate is optimized for the Google Coral TPU and uses TensorFlow Lite models, which integrate seamlessly with Coral for object detection. Unfortunately, Hailo AI isn’t natively supported by Frigate, as it requires specific software integration to work with its hardware acceleration. While Hailo does offer impressive performance with 13 TOPS, you would need custom integration and support from Frigate’s side to use it effectively. So, for now, the Coral TPU is the best-supported option for Frigate. Hopefully, we might see broader hardware support in future versions! 😊

can you make it work with esp32, it would be interesting esp32+coral
@hexidevКүн бұрын
Not possible: ESP32 doesn't support PCIE and even if it did there are no drivers for it and would be a pain to do. Better of doing this with an raspberry pi
@ravis1nghКүн бұрын
Absolutely, but we can use ESP32 Cam stream, analyse it using Coral TPU on any system, such as Raspberry Pi, and run automations.

What is this coral tpu listening for the first time . May anyone list some good source or videos describing this..

Used for AI vision or in simple term Computer Vision. Machines can see, analyse, detect, and differentiate between real world objects.
