I could listen to Jackson Wang talk forever… so emotionally mature, honest, warm and erudite. He is so self aware and I love how he is not afraid to take risks for his dreams. He’s not only an idol in terms of music but just in the way he carries himself and lives. One of my favourite interviews ever. #teamwang forever

I always say this, Jackson is an icon in making. I love his personality as much as I love his music. This man inspires me in so many levels. Thanks for the reaction Anthony. Also lets drop the 'bussy' man. 🤣😭

What he said before they started with the second question was: he is thankful even for the hate comments. Because what is really scary, is getting no comments. That's what he is most afraid of. And the another thing he said basically was everybody is very tired. Everbody is trying to enjoy themselves with (or while doing) shows and music. But the scariest is when there is no reaction. Especially when there is no reaction from his korean fans. Because that is where he started and he is very grateful for them. He thinks this is because his music wasn't released in Korea. That was very hard for him. It is a shame in his mindset. He is thankful if they even know his name. Hope that is a little helpful even though I didn'tt put in any timestamps haha!

It makes sense that no response would be the scariest for an entertainment icon and artist, but it's also a little bit heartbreaking.

I could listen to Jackson Wang all day, he's so open, genuine and relatable on a human level. Eric is a gifted interviewer as he makes everyone comfortable, a true pleasure to watch. Jackson's work is phenomenal, drive and creativity is off the charts. Can't wait to see what the rest of his career brings, he deserves more recognition than he receives imo. Thank you for the reaction.

Jackson solos are released on Chinese and western platforms but not on Korean platforms. Back then JYPent had the full exclusivity on his Korean activities, so he released his solo stuff outside of Korea. Which is why Koreans aren't that familiar with his solo music.

Not even kidding I think I like watching these videos more through watching them with Anthony because he’s like the only reacting person that I don’t hate for pausing the videos - and the inspirational stuff he says gives me so much motivation so thank you so much

Jackson is born and raised in Hong Kong. He was studied ‘American International school’ since he was young in Hong Kong. That’s why he’s fluent in English and has American accent as well (can be say English is one of his first language) Then he went to Korea to be a trainee and be one of the member of the group ‘GOT7’. He is fluent in both English, Cantonese, Korean and Mandarin. He could speak a bit French as well.

You are right he is Chinese I like your reaction and your thoughts 🥰 You asked why Jackson didn't release his songs in korea? He said in another interview because jype ban him from doing solo activities in korea, Japan and Thailand, now he is slowly trying to do some promotion there

I totally feel the same as Jackson when he was talking about his issues… how he shuts down and shuts people out. Or at least he used to. I am an artist and I get the creative issues too. I still haven’t learned to reach out when I need to.. it’s still too hard for me to do. Always been a loner and introvert. I am slowly getting comfortable with who I am, my daughter is a great inspiration and comfort, but like you Anthony I’m not quite there yet. Work in progress but it helps to hear that others like you and Jackson talk so openly about it. Wishing us all the happiness we seek and deserve.

Jackson's such a gem. It seems like a lot of K-artists (C-artists too) and others in the same group are getting more vocal about the current flaws of the music industry that regularly pushes them under. Their mental health and well-being is woefully secondary in some of these circles. BIBI (she was featured in the song HANRYANG) just released a single called 'Animal Farm' and there are things in the MV that definitely allude to this.

I really appreciate your connection and reaction to this interview and how it resonated with you. I am a huge fan of Jackson's music, but his personality and openness are what impress me the most about him. He comes across as a genuine human. I agree that there is something freeing about being able to be yourself. After my husband died and my children were adults, I realized that I could just be myself - I didn't have to be parts that we often have to play. I sold my house, left the state I lived in, went into a new profession (teaching - which I LOVE), and moved to Alaska. I miss my kids and grandkids - but they don't really NEED me and I hope I can show them that they can pursue what they love and still live their lives. I personally disagree with you that (as Buddha says) "Life is suffering," instead I think that there is suffering in life, but there is tomorrow and opportunity for improvement and joy (sometimes it's the smallest that can bring a moment of joy). I also just want to add that we shouldn't judge people who are unable for a myriad of reason to 'keep up their health," I agree it is a goal to strive for and discipline can help - but there are times when health issues are unavoidable. One can exercise and eat well, and still get cancer or get into an accident or have some rare genetic issue that wrecks their health. Thanks for your thoughtful responses throughout this interview. I first watched you react to Stray Kids, but stayed because I really appreciate the way you interact with content. Cheers!

I don't think I've ever commented on one of your videos but I could really see how Jackson's words were resonating with you, particularly towards the end of the video where you were alluding to the lack of a father figure and how that has influenced you to be the best father you can be for your kids. I hope you're doing well Anthony! Your videos are great :)

Its good that you feel comfortable enough to talk about your real feelings Anthony. I think or atleast hope Erics interviews inspire people to open up about themselves, not just the artists being interviewed. I try to strive for it too. Love the one with Felix and Bang Chan too! And the fact that several of the boys in Stray kids dare to open up too about their mental health.

@@AnthonyRay here some additional infos and answers to your questions during the reaction (i hope this helps🤞🏻) - Yes Jackson is Chinese he is a total foreigner in Korea. -Jackson Wang is also a National Fencer and represents China in the Olympics -jackson's solo career "team wang" started when he and the GOT7 are still in the JYP entertainment. The company wanted to have a share to his label but Jackson wanted his solo stuff to be his "own" that is why the company didn't allow him to promote/release songs in some countries like japan and korea. if u have time i hope u also react to his interview in Dive Studios "Get Real" episode, this interview is definitely much more in depth and you'll understand Jackson better because of the different facts that they talk about, looking forward to ur next reactions!💯 here is the link for the "GET REAL" episode with Jackson aka the bussy owner🤣 kzbin.info/www/bejne/d4qVY5V9pKt8Z6M

Anthony, I think that it doesn't happen only in Asian culture, I think as far as the music industry happens in all record labels in general throughout the world... it has happened to many artists being tied to contracts, making lawsuits against their own record labels... it's very common today... we know it's not right... but hey, many agree to be known and then once they are known they launch themselves independently... let's say they prefer to pay the price... it's the harsh reality....Maybe the Asian industry is much stricter What's more... I admire the discipline they have... I would like to be a bit like that... obviously taken to the extreme is not good... but a bit if I wanted to have that disciplineyes....but in terms of problems in the industry there have always been in all the countries around the world and there still are. And unfortunately there will continue to be...perhaps it's the price what do non-independent artists pay using this as a springboard or platform to become famous and in a few years launch individually or independently
