Atropatene get crushed by Armenia or occasionally the Seleucids or Parthia every game, I've never seen the AI manage more with them than annexing Albania

@@rabidfurify that time armenia spent the first 10 years staring at the wall and the seleucids were having a mega war with thrace, who had conquered most of the antigonids and macedon. even then i usually see them last quite a while just being ignored while the armenians focus west and the dahae rampage around before falling due to constant rebellions.

Did you know that on normal difficulty the AI almost never declares war on the human player (except for scripted events like the Diadochi wars)? Even Rome will ignore its own mission tree and let you be despite insulting it and blocking its expansion path :(

@@Red_Zed It just doesn't happen to me. I played Sabinia for 30 years and insulted Rome and Etruria to high heavens to no avail. Same when playing Atropatene - Armenia changed their usual opening moves to avoid me. I don't get it, maybe Invictus is bugged.

Apparently all evidence suggests the Medes probably never existed at least in the imperial form we view them. As archaeological evidence doesn't exist for their specific architecture only for before and after them they are probably based on some exaggerations Herodotus picked up from some traveller and come from a myth about some time the Persian tribes united against the Assyrians and Cyrus unification was the first actual one and he just unified the Persian tribes.
