some of ante bellum’s missions are just wack. styria wants you to take 8 highly developed HRE provinces before unlocking the rest of the tree IIRC, i was like “what the piss?”

What are those, the Tirol/Salzburg/Trient ones? I just played Styria in AB and I didn't have any problems with AE cus after each war in the HRE I had a pleasant past time of bullying Hungarians and Orthodox Slavs :) The missions in this mod are sick indeed though.

@@b.ug.p.7681 i remember the last time i played them mission 1 was like “annex carinthia.” mission 2: “annex tirol.” mission 3: “annex upper austria.” and every annexation was like >80 AE, maybe they changed it??

I also had my own little 'Ante Bellum mission moment'. I was playing as Asturias, fighting against Andalusia. Since I was small and they were big, I prioritized taking the most valuable provinces first (gold mine, centers of trade) and the rest later, so I kinda ignored the order of conquest from the mission tree. When I finally conquered the last province in Iberia and completed a bunch of missions at once, I got an even 'The sack of Cordoba'. It gave it a bunch of devastation and removed most of the development. The only problem was that *it was my own city for at least 30 years* and I even developed it myslef a bit. Yet after taking the last Andalusian province somewhere in the east, my army decided to completely wreck Cordoba. I can't remember the exact numbers, so I can be wrong here, but it went from like 30 to 9 dev, or something along these lines.

Love Ante Bellum. Not 100 percent on this but i think the England you form as Normandy is different than the Anglo-Saxon England that exists at game start in this mod. So it actually might not be against the spirit of the campaign to form England.

Correct, Normandy has its own version of England different from the Anglo-Saxon one, and it expands the Norman mission tree by about 40 missions.

Not sure why Hawk is so hesitant on forming countries in many of his videos when most of them are natural part of the nations' gameplay. He could've just not switch the ideas if he really wanna make it unique to the starting nation.

You don't but the mod is made with all DLCs in mind and offers no alternatives for people without them. Play at your own risk.
