This is our journey to Liverpool. We took the train from Thornaby to Darlington, then from there we went to Liverpool Lime Street station.
We arrived at Liverpool Lime Street and made our way toward our hotel, stopping off at St George's Hall for a look at the statues and World War memorials. We were staying in Travelodge Central, which was a good position for the things we wanted to visit. The hotel was clean and quiet, unfortunately they didn't do cooked breakfasts, instead it was a breakfast to go (Box of cereal, milks, pain au choc..). We went to Weatherspoons on our first morning, but on our second morning, we went to a place called Core Cafe on Tarleton Street, which was very nice indeed. If you are looking for somewhere for breakfast then I highly recommend Core Cafe.
After visiting St George's Hall, we walked down to the dock area and went to see if we could book a tour on the Mersey Ferry. When we got there, it stated that they were suspended, so that tour was not to be.
We took a walk around the dry dock, had some food from both pop-up shop and restaurant. The pop-up shops are quite expensive, so I would consider taking your own food or finding a nice restaurant. I got a plain hot dog, chicken burger, small portion of chips, and two small bottles of water - £19. The more south you go, the more expensive it gets, but if you are on a budget then a café or restaurant may be a better option.
We wandered around looking at the ships in the dry dock, the ship parts, and looking out over the River Mersey, before going for food at Rudy's Pizza. We took a walk back to our hotel and planned for the next day.
The next day we visited Quirky Quarter, Chinatown, and Tate Liverpool, which can be seen in the next video.
Thanks for watching.
