Send it back and get an Air Hawk! I’ve got one on mine and it solves the comfort problem. It’s way cheaper too. Thanks for the review on the Seat Concept. It confirms what I was thinking .

I have the same seat on my T7 and had the exact same experience as you. I’m also 6’2” tall and weigh around 180 lbs. I rode with mine for 2000 miles trying to break it in with no luck. I ended up sending it back and having seat concepts install softer seat foam. This was a huge improvement in comfort. I still get a little of the “binding”, but not as bad.
@entertheadventure53133 жыл бұрын
Did they charge you to do that?

I had to pay for shipping to and from, but they replaced the foam for free.

I have had Seat Concepts on 3 of my bikes (actually had 2 different seat concepts seats on KLR), I love the quality and everything, but I am never buying or suggesting to buy gripper top to anyone intending to ride the bike on street and longer distances. Gripper is like sandpaper, it's fine initially but the longer you sit on it the more you start to feel it (especially bad when it gets hot). My idea from now on is - grip on the sides if possible to keep knees attached to the bike, and the least grippy top for comfort. When standing top is not as important anyways, but when sitting it Gripper Top gets annoying.

I bought the low comfort seat (I'm only 5'6"), for my T7 and had/have much the same experience. The stock seat is more comfortable, I can ride longer before my butt starts to hurt. I too regret buying it, it's for sale if anyone is interested.

I was debating about whether to buy the Corbin seat or the Comfort Concepts seat (which I had never heard of them until recently). Based in this and other reviews online I think I am not going to be a cheapskate and go with the Corbin. Seriously, the seat is one of the most important accessories you can get for many bikes, and one of the things people want to spend the least on. Go figure! Having a comfortable seat can make a huge difference on how comfortable you are. Being uncomfortable not only wears you down physically, but mentally too. One of the hardest things to do for many people is to stay focus in long rides. I don’r know about you and your butt, but I love to comfortable. One of the reasons I wear earplugs when I ride. Both a good seat and earplugs help reduce fatigue. Helping you stay alert longer on long rides.

I have the stock height seat concepts and I love it. After 2500 painful miles I mounted the new seat and went for a 3 hour non stop ride. My butt didn’t hurt at all and I stopped thinking about “butt feel” after the first 10 minutes. I couldn’t go 10 minutes with the stock seat without starting to squirm and then feeling a painful butt there after. I did a 600 mile day on the stock seat so I know butt pain. If you feel you have an issue of sliding forward then mount some highway pegs like Happy Trail universal mounts. That combination turned my T700 into a touring bike- for me.

I also got the standard height comfort seat, it is much more comfortable than stock. Stock i could go two hours max without a break, with the seat concepts I can run a whole tank or go 3+ hours without getting off the bike. The one piece seat I wanted more to remove the place where the stock seats came together because thats where my 6'1" frame wants to put my butt. Now I no longer have to sit forward to avoid the end of the seat and with my moto skiveez padded shorts on I can put two tanks down back to back. Sorry to hear the tall seat was too stiff, I would stay on it and see if it breaks in before bailing on it, the stock seat improved a lot over the 1st 3000 miles for me. At first it was an hour and I had to break for a few. Maybe your tall seat just needs to settle in a bit.

@@machouston4188 I was only on the stock Rally seat for 10 minutes and my butt started hurting, and that was at the beginning of 1120 miles and three days. I wasn’t about to give it a few 1000 miles to see if it could break me in. :-)

I have a seat concepts for my DRZ400 and it's good. I figured that the one for the Tenere 700 would be good too. I was wrong, it's terrible. It lacks enough padding, vibrations go right through you and no cushion. If you look at their seats from a profile view, you can see there isn't enough foam there to be comfortable. I bought a Corbin and it wasn't a whole lot better.

I'm looking at the Seat Concepts 2 piece comfort sport touring - your review is on the one piece comfort, so it's not apples to apples. The 2 piece is configured differently. If you're going cross country, why did you go with the 1 piece and not the 2 piece? I plan on going cross country also. Glad I saw your video before purchasing.

I just bought my 2023 T7 2 days ago. Today I just put 230 miles on it. The first hour of riding was fine but the last few hours were painful. I am 6’2 and about 210 pounds and I found that I felt like my bottom was sliding forward also and being bunched up, much the same way that you describe your replacement seat is how I feel on the stock seat. I need something wider and something that will simply not be helped by gravity and be angled toward the gas tank. Don’t know if this is possible, I think it’s basically just the design of the bike.

Find a local auto upholster or do you have any custom bike shops around? See what they can do. It may not save you any money but you should end up with what you like and it supports local businesses.
