Friends, since filming this review I’ve become worried that I didn’t give enough out-loud consideration to how extraordinarily dry my skin is these days because of tretinoin. Sometimes skin is so dry that nothing “sticks” properly to it or looks beautiful on it, and I’ve had a few days like that lately. I want to clarify that on those days my other base products (like the MUFE concealer and Sephora Best Skin Ever foundation) have performed way better for me than Ease Drop, which is the distinction that caused me to feel confident that, at least in my case, the formula of this tint is the primary issue. But wish I had been clearer on camera about the fact that these are truly the driest of times for my face. If you are considering this product and you don’t have extra dry skin, I recommend watching multiple reviews (for example, my friend Kackie is also in her early 30s and she had a much better experience than I kzbin.info/www/bejne/fKjLm4uEl86qf6c). Thank you for watching!

When I first started tret, I couldn't wear any foundations at all. For nearly a year. Now my skin is crazy oily, and it has been for several months. I regret not holding onto some of my foundations that didn't work for me because my skin had gotten dry.

I’m in the same boat with the retinol right now. No foundation or concealer looks good in my skin after a couple hours especially if I add powder. It just cakes up and looks soooo dry. I’m thinking mineral sunscreen may also be playing a roll in how dry my skin is? Considering trying a chemical sunscreen to see if it helps even though mineral is best for sensitive skin.

This review is super useful for me because I am definitely of an age (51) where everything settles into fine lines. I also have combo skin that leans dry in the winter so this would be a hard pass for me. I had high hopes for it because Fenty finally addressed the much needed gap in the market for a light weight skin tint type foundation in a good color range. My continued rec for this category would be the MAC water weight, which is similar to the glossier in consistency, but gives a bit of coverage. It also has way better packaging (glass bottle with dropper) and works as a mix in with a hydrating primer. PS: I love your new Avatar. You look like you are wearing a crown. Queen of KZbin.

I had extreme textural issues with this too when I used my fingers or a brush. I found using a damp beauty sponge and bouncing it on stopped the textural issues and it looked pretty flawless after. I think the sponge method also made it more dewy looking. Edited to add: I am an extremly dry skin and dry patches/scab girl.

As a fellow very fair lady I too was excited by the color, but I had a similar experience. I love the ilia skin tint however, even though it has a bit to much glow for me, but it’s a great mixer and I can matte it out a bit with powder if I’m not feeling it. You’d probably get along way better with that one as well given your propensity towards that glowing moonbeam look.

I wore the Coola Matte tinted spf for about 10 years, it was my HG base product, and I have been searching for an item that blurs and softens to the same extent that that the Cool did. Foundations don't really work that great for me. Foundation sticks are a bit better, but not by much. I recently tried this, and it works BEAUTIFULLY for me! I would agree that it does not set 100%, but it does set to about 90%. I also use my hands and really work it into the skin with no issues. I hope Fenty never discontinues this!

I've had the same issues with the foundation sticking to my baby hairs, separating on dry patches and bringing my pores to the forefront. I have found that using a pore filling primer helps, both with appearance and wear time. If I am going to wear a primer, I will wear a pore filling one, but I don't typically use primers every day or with every foundation if that makes sense. I found that tapping over the top gently with a sponge, after it's been applied with a brush, helps it not have so many lines/unevenness. BUT I do like the way it wears, it's just a bit finicky to get just right. My skin is pretty normal. a lil Oily in the t zone, dry around my active acne where i'm applying tretinoin, etc.
@isheeka24653 жыл бұрын
What a disaster of a product! I feel like a (good) skin tint would be perfect for mature skin so it's a shame that this one performs so terribly. Incidentally, your glowy base makeup tutorial has really helped me as I've been struggling with texture, so thank you for that! I never would have thought that glowy skin would be flattering with blemishes and closed comedones but somehow it turns out it looks great. Also, this is a beautiful makeup look on you.

I am 18 with normal blemish free skin and paired with the future dew this looks amazing, I often cannot even tell that I am wearing it other than that it is slightly more neutral than my golden undertones. I get almost no coverage and have pretty even skin so i don't see any correcting but it makes me look like i have a filter on; everything looks smooth and bouncy. I am very satisfied. P.S. it also is transferproof on me at least. I get more lipgloss on my mask than the tint lol. I have combo skin (dry perimeter, oily center). I’ve found it blends and sits best for me when there is nothing too moist under it (doesn’t play as well with a lot of skincare or primers)- It’s very long lasting for me and holds my oil in better than almost anything else I’ve tried. It also settles into lines and then stubbornly stays put, so I avoid putting it around my nose/mouth/between eyebrows if I don’t want to deal with that. With this type of formula I use a beauty sponge for best result or fingers (Circular motions are bad if fingers, needs to be “smoothed” on quickly and tapped out or the pigment will cling onto texture), and apply it on my cheeks, chin and forehead in a light layer, set with a light layer of Mac powder foundation and a Elf HD powder in larger pore areas or areas with lines. It has a beautiful finish on majority of the skin, and wears better under a mask without rubbing off than anything I’ve tried. Definitely emphasizes dry crustiness (I have that on sides of my nose for example, so I don’t put it there.) I do overall really like it for its longevity (when set at least), finish, and mask friendliness. I just have to be aware of where not to put it, and use other things like powder or concealer if I need coverage in those areas or on blemishes. It’s very quick to apply and shortened my makeup routine, even with that. I like that it is the sheer “no-makeup” foundation for those with more combo/oily skin, because the very moisturizing ones almost never work for me. Note> I live in a dry semi arid climate which may be a factor also.

yes, MAC, Maybelline, and MUFE all had good shade ranges pre-Fenty, but I do think it's undeniable how much Fenty's launch influenced the makeup world in making inclusivity the standard, not the exception. As a very pale person like Hannah, I had very few foundation options before Fenty (especially at the drugstore), but I have so many more in the years following Fenty and it's been amazing. I know the problem was even worse for women on the opposite side of the spectrum with deep complexions that historically were left out by many brands.
