These were typically marketed as children's guitars, as they are a 1/4 size, sometimes called 1/2, around 30" long. I bought 2 similar sized guitars without the speaker for my young nieces (4&6), and they are perfect for them. Btw, I would have used a drop or two of CA glue instead of gorilla glue in case you need to remove the nut in the future.

I played something similar. When I turned the volume up to 11 there was some distortion, which made it sound great. It was battery powered too, so no need for an amp or electricity. Round the camp fire I could do plenty of rock stuff

Sorry to spam, but I never thought about tuning travel guitars to compensate for the scale length. I've always tuned them to standard. I've also noticed that with short scale guitars, I can never keep them in tune for long. Perhaps that has something to do with the scale length. maybe that extra tension will help with tuning stability.

I picked up one of these years ago for my youngest daughter. It was just like that one, except it was pink. I just tuned it to an open chord so she could bang away on it and it wouldn't sound too terrible. I can't remember what happened to it.
