Great video! Absolutely enjoyed this dive into some interesting, innovative and even crazy maps, that would actually add some fresh gameplay into competitive cs I see a lot of very different competitive games (cs, starcraft, overwatch) being afraid of adding any new and innovative maps into their map pools. So instead players get a bunch of "new" but absolutely generic, soulless maps that don't actually provide anything new to the game. I really hope valve has the courage to add something interesting to cs2. Even though there will always be players who dislike anything new

With the Armory update released the simple fact seems plain as day: the content people love in operations is not skins but maps, game modes, and objectives. I've known this for a long time with my decades of experience going back to the Counter Strike beta, but the broader community reaction seems to mirror my feelings. Thank you for covering the perennial heart of the CS community, a thriving and creative mapping community. I've got my fingers crossed that some of these will wind up in the official Casual and Competitive map pools as Valve's community spotlights. The state of the server browser, filled with premium membership-only servers and buried behind an unlabeled icon which opens it in a separate window, I am not surprised that most of the CS player base is upset with Valve's intransigence. Grinding the same 7-9 maps in a paltry ~3(ish) game modes would make anyone bored and irritable.

Really loved this review since it's the first one in a professional styled-video that is able to really collect your thoughts on most of the maps for the contest. Not to say that the existing VODs aren't helpful, but I feel like a video like this is good for really breaking down your opinions concisely to viewers, easy enough for mapmakers to find feedback and interesting to entice the regular player. It's something I would expect people the likes of 3kliks or WarOwl would be making later down the line on the competition. I was glad to see your ranking for Taisha and your initial thoughts running about it during Olaf's stream, so thank you!

The best community map that was removed after some time - GRIND. Theme was QUARRY and SILOS. Mid doors for Ts and CTs. Mid connected with both sides, couple of entrains into sites. Path above T mid. SURF wall. Wall from mid to one site that can be boosted over, but also CTs could jump over it if they have good movement. Nice looking, fairly optimized. It was very easy to learn timings and understand how it works. I would put GRIND to be in competitive pool without thinking.

Warden should've had more commentary tbh, I playtested the map twice and it's now in a very good state layout-wise, while still being unique thematically My first playtest the map was chaotic, overwhelming and super confusing, basically a labyrinth. Catfood heard the feedback and has majorly improved it, my second playtest being 100x more fun. the map plays better than a basic 4 square/3 lane, but isn't trying anything wacky or crazy to achieve that unique feeling. Catfood is cooking
